-From Tom's POV-

I still was really not in the mood to be around Y/n. I was still annoyed at her for being so secretive about Draco. But I couldn't just fly off the handle at her right now because one, I have to make sure Vivian doesn't kill me or anyone else because I will end up being blamed for it, two it would mess up my plans I have set for a few days, and three because it would send Y/n flying to Draco. And we couldn't have that.

We arrived at the entrance to the Chamber and I used the password and Y/n followed me in. The whole way here, she had been quiet which was very unlike her; usually she was very opinionated and angry in situations like these, but this time, I could tell she was thinking. Something was heavy in her mind. I had no idea what it was, but I'd like to think that she was worried about me. We stood in the mouth of the Chamber and looked around quietly. A loud drop of water splashed down on the concrete and made both of us jump. I signaled for Y/n to stay back as I went out onto the walkway and inspected, making sure the basilisk wasn't lurking. I had instructed her to close her eyes and she did.

I walked around and thoroughly checked everywhere for ten minutes when I saw the black scales. I froze and watched carefully as they carefully rose and then fell, no other movement. It's sleeping and there's no sign of Vivian. What the actual fuck, Y/n. I quickly turned back around and raced to Y/n and practically dragged her out of the dungeon by her wrists. "Tom, wh- what's going on-" she spit out with her eyes half open as I pulled us out of the exit.

"The basilisk was asleep. And Vivian was nowhere to be found in there. So, explain this to me, Y/n. Why would you first be secretive with Draco behind my back, then use a love potion on me to learn about the magic waters, then you use a knockout gas on me, and now you lured me down here by lying??" I spit at her. She keeps shaking her head and I can see her getting angry.

"You're so ungrateful, Tom. I watch out for you 24/7 and never get anything in return. And you think I'm lying?? It is now past 10 PM, on my birthday, and all I want is to be in bed right now. And you think I took the time to make up this elaborate scheme for your time??" she scoffs. "Get over yourself, seriously." she says before she storms off in the direction of the common room. I stand there for a few more minutes and think about it. Would she lie about this? I mean, I knew for a fact Y/n was a good liar- a pathological one, even- but I really could not pinpoint a strong reason why someone would lie about this.

I finally headed back to the Slytherin wing of the castle and went to my dorm and got into bed. I knew I wasn't going to get any sleep, but I really had to try. The next few days were important. I had to focus on my spells and make sure my Parseltongue was perfect. I could worry about winning my girlfriend back after the tournament.

-From Draco's POV-

I heard Tom come in the dorm late, but I didn't say anything; I didn't want to know why he was so late. If it was Y/n, I really couldn't be bothered to hear the dirty details.

I'm still not really sure what she saw in him. Granted, Tom was very popular among the sixth and seventh years because he had all the brains and popularity- and the girlfriend- that they wanted, but from the perspective of a teenage girl whose as good-looking and smart and powerful as Y/n, I really am not sure. Most of the other girls in this school were shallow and would only chase someone like Tom for the clout, but Y/n, she was already well-known. She could intimidate anyone she wanted, she was smarter than the large majority of the school, all of it. And even though a lot of people didn't see it, she was quite funny. She had quite the intense, cynical, and pessimistic sense of humor, but it was fun and charming once you caught onto it. I still have no idea what her and Tom fought over, because it was very obvious that they had fought, but it made up my mind about giving her that growing serum. I was on the fence about it before, but after seeing that Tom literally controls a giant mythical snake that can kill people, I don't trust him whenever he loses his temper anymore.
