Fuck it, quadruple(?) upload tonight<3
-From your POV-

I hadn't told anyone.

I had no idea who I even WOULD tell. Not even Violet knew. I would take this to the grave, I had to. I mean, what other choice did I have? As much as Tom loved her and I, if I told him Violet was Draco's daughter he would kill me, Draco, and Violet. And as for Draco and I, that ship has long sailed and will never dock at a port ever- and I mean EVER- again. So I had just been sitting on this secret this whole time. It was uncomfortable, but I knew I would have to get used to it for everyone's sake. Tom loved his daughter, and Violet loved her dad. That's all that mattered. Draco had no role in her life and I strongly doubted he wanted one, so there really shouldn't be a problem with this.

Violet had been off at Hogwarts for some months now, and we hadn't seen her in awhile but last week the school sent us a letter inviting us to this year's tri-wizard tournament.

I strolled into the kitchen slowly and saw Tom sliding on his black gloves. His hands have grown worse and worse over time. I leaned up against the counter and looked at him. "Where are you getting ready to go?" I ask him.

"Business, darling." he says back.

"Not going to the tournament, are you??" I ask. He just looks up at me before adjusting his glove. He didn't say anything and I raised an eyebrow as I folded my arms. "I thought we discussed and agreed we weren't going." I complain. We had been on a ten year ban from the tri-wizard tournament given our past, but that ended a few years ago.

"This will be the first tournament that the ban is lifted. Is it really that criminal that I want to go be a prospector as well as see my daughter?" he poses out.

"No, but it's shady to do something like this when you have a history of these secret plots that you don't let me in on." I reason. He sighs as he fixes the long overcoat he had over his suit.

"If you don't trust me, then why don't you come with me?" he proposes. I let out a soft sigh.

"I'll go get my cloak."

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

We sat perched high in the section of Slytherin alum and throughout the entire tournament, I was stealing glances at Tom. He seemed so preoccupied with something; he kept looking back in forth between two specific spots and barely spoke to me the whole time and it caused a churning in my stomach. He's lying; he is up to something. I cleared my throat and lightly stood up. "I'm going to the bathroom." I say. He turns to me and his eyes almost light up, as if he wanted me to leave.

"Really? Well- that's not what I meant; I'll save your seat of course." he covers up. I just give a slight grin and nod and make my way down the stands.

Once I made sure he wasn't looking, I slipped off back behind the stands and began trying to figure out what two points he was looking at. "Lost something?" a voice chimes. I look up and see Draco. My stomach grew even more uncomfortable.

"No, but I am looking for something." I say before resuming my search. He doesn't speak at first, but then he does.

"Do you want help?" he offers. And that's when my eyes hit it. Tom was going back and forth from watching the clock that counted down to when the Mudblood Memorial was held and to one of his loyal Death-eaters on the other end of the stands, that was standing near security. That bastard. "Y/n?" Draco asks gently. I turn to face him.

"Draco, I know you owe me nothing, but do you know why you and your parents came today? Was it because of Tom?" I ask him frantically. His eyebrow scrunches a little and then his eyes widen as he realizes.

"He didn't tell you-"

"Tell me what, Draco...?" I pry on. His eyes are now wide and intense.

"Y/n, there's a reason you didn't see any of us- the Legion- in the stands with you guys." he points out. I look around and see the familiar black suits and dark cloaks around, but none of which are in the stands.

"Draco, what has he planned?" I ask. He swallows hard.

"The basilisk, it's stayed here all these years-" he starts out. "He's found a protectorate spell for any of the Legion and the true heir of Slytherin, so Violet would be safe." he says. My heart stops in my chest as I spin around and start pacing off. "Y/n!" Draco calls as he catches up to me.

"When was this plan going into action?" I ask, still pacing to the student stands to find Violet.

"As soon as the Mudblood Memorial started." Draco told me. "Why?? Aren't you in on it?? You and Violet would be safe." Draco points out.

"Draco, sometimes there's more going on then what we can see." I say as I carefully scan the stands. "How is this protectorate spell working??" I ask him. He raises up his sleeve and shows me a dark logo on his arm.

The Dark Mark.

"He's charmed it so the Basilisk will not even see us. Anyone with the mark is safe." he explains.

"Then how the hell would Violet be safe??" I ask. He's hesitant to answer.

"I'm not completely sure, but from what my dad and mum have gossiped about, he put a protectorate on the bloodline of Slytherin. He also expects that Violet will be able to control the Basilisk, shall anything go wrong." he points out. I continue shuffling around, scanning through hundreds of students as I look for her.

"No no no. No, that is so incredibly wrong." I mumble out.

"She's the heir; what's wrong??" he asks in confusion. I just turn and look at him and hold my tongue.

It would be so easy to just tell him right here, right now, that she isn't Tom's daughter, but I can't. I need to remove her from this situation before the Basilisk comes out or she's as good as dead. She can't control the Basilisk, and Tom doesn't know that yet. But I can't tell him this. I can't tell anyone. I just swallow and sigh.

"Because, Draco. It's just--" before I can even make up a lie, I hear a buzzer and notice that the Muggle Memorial is starting now.

Many wizards began shuffling around the stands as the ceremonies began. My eyes grew wide as I saw Tom give some sort of hand signal to the Death-eater who was standing near security. I turned back to Draco. "I know we're on bad terms, but shall anything happen to me, protect Violet. I don't trust many people Draco but right now, I trust you." I say in serious tone; the weight of my words must have portrayed to him the gravity of the situation because he just barely nods and then turns and begins looking for Violet as I grab my wand and begin to make my way back over to Tom.

As I was walking, when I got about halfway there, I saw Tom wave his wand and large black clouds and shadows appeared over the Death-eaters. Tom then stood up from his seat and I watched in horror- it felt like everything was happening in slow motion- as his eyes emitted a white light and the ground began to shake. I turned and saw that a bunch of the Death-eaters had used disaster spells to create blockades at all exits of the stands. His lips were moving and the ground began ripping apart.

I've seen this before.

It's coming, I have no time to waste.

I took in a deep breath and began charming. "Venica aloctma." I waited in silence for a few minutes as the ground continued to be torn apart and black scales began appearing when a friendly screech from the sky reassured me.

I looked up and watched as the beautiful scales of Smaug ran across the sky, flying in circles above the masses.

Tom wasted no time unleashing the Basilisk. The giant one-eyed serpent began at the Ravenclaw section, terrorizing the kids and they began dropping like flies. I glanced over and saw that Draco had found Violet and was now escorting her down and out of the stands, but there was another kid with them.

I didn't have time to figure out who the other child was, I had to act now.

I was going to do what I should've done years ago and kill that damn Basilisk.
