-From your POV-

I was in the bathroom, brushing my teeth and looking at myself in the mirror when the door swung open, hitting me in the side. "Eva!" I shout, pulling my toothbrush out and holding my side.

"You're taking forever. It's just dinner, not a date with Draco." she says sassy.

"It's called dental hygiene, you should consider partaking in it." I tell her as I slowly go back to brushing.

"Mhm are you done in here yet??" she asks, waiting by the shower. I roll my eyes and I spit out into the sink and begin rinsing. "Y/n, hurry up!" she rushes. I pick up the nearest bottle of hairspray and spray it at her while I walk out and close the door behind me.

I was trying to pick what I wanted to wear to their house, knowing this was most definitely formal, so I finally decided on a black dress. It went down to my mid thigh and wasn't very tight on my body; it had short sleeves and honestly just looked like a long t-shirt. I kept my normal jewelry (my S necklace and the serpent ring) and then wore thigh-high black stockings and strappy clogs. I didn't know what do with my hair, so I just decided to gel it and brush it back into a neat bun at the back of my head while it was still wet and then used a spell to dry it instantly.

I had stolen some spinach from the kitchen and was feeding it to Viper when my dad came in my room. "Are you ready to go?" he asks me. I nod and stand up, sliding Viper back into her cage with the rest of the spinach. "So, are you going to tell me about that thing?" my dad asks as he hold my door open for me.

"Yeah, I can turn it into a fire breathing dragon if you piss me off." I say as I go down the stairs. I hear Eva coming down the stairs. She braided her hair and was wearing a long sleeve black dress. "You've fed your drexel, yes?" I ask her. I had given her the basic instructions last night on how to not kill your drexel and she was old enough to take care of it. She nodded and then we all got ready to use some floo powder.

The Malfoys were sitting around their living room, awaiting our arrival. Eva got there first, then me, and my dad was last. I was greeted by Lucius hugging me and then Narcissa hugging me again, kissing either side of my face, and then I stood face to face with Draco not really sure if I should hug him. He looked me up and down a couple times and I don't think he realized that I saw it. "You look really good, Y/n."  he croaked out. I gave a small smile and looked him up and down, he was wearing a solid black suit and oh my God. He. Looked. Good.

"You as well." I say back to him, causing us to both grow slightly awkward. The silence  was broken and the space was closed when Lucius had strolled around to Draco's side and slammed his hand on his back, pushing him closer to me.

"Don't be rude, Draco. She looks like a doll! Treat her as one." Lucius tells him. Draco looks back to me and I decide to make the move for him. I step in and wrap my arms around his neck and tuck my head on his shoulder. He didn't hesitate too long to put his arms around my waist. This was definitely a bit too intimate of a hug for 'just friends' but his parents were pushing this anyways, so who cares. Lucius smiles and lightly cheers at the sight and then our hug breaks and we're called to the table.

My dad and Eva sat next to each other on the opposite side of the table while Narcissa and Lucius sat on either end of the table, leaving Draco and I to sit next to each other on the other side of the table. House elves brought out the food and we dug in, partaking in the conversation telling them what our school year was like and telling Eva what she's to expect next year.

The food was really good and the conversation was fine. At the end, every one had full stomachs and was ready to curl into a ball and go to sleep. I was ready to go home and pass out, but of course there was more planned. Narcissa had a record player and began playing classical music. "Well don't be so stiff, dance!" she insists, waving her arms in encouragement. I'm leaned back against my seat and I pivot my head to look at Draco who is slouched in his chair in lack of amusement.

"I'll do it if you do." I say in a low tone and he thinks for a minute before standing to his feet, holding his hand out for me. I take his hand and he walks to the living room where his parents are dancing together and  my dad dancing with Eva. I looked at Draco who was tense. I took his hand, gaining his attention and pulled him closer to me so that we had one hand entwined and then he had one hand on my waist. "Is this as awkward for you as it is for me?" I ask in a whisper.

"Actually,no." he said confidently. I noticed he had fixed his posture and didn't seem nearly as nervous as I did. I wasn't sure what else to say so we just danced in silence, watching each other closely and occasionally watching what everyone else was doing. About ten minutes in, I noticed Lucius and my father had began drinking at a mini-bar in the corner of the room leaving Narcissa to fixing my sister's uneven braids. I guess Draco had noticed me observing this and caught on because he moved his hands but leaned down to my ear and began whispering to me. "I'm about to go to my room. Would you like to come with?" he offers, sending a shiver down my spine.
