-From Violet's POV-
Not even a full week had passed and I guess my mother as a dragon had become quite the site because it was across all the biggest newspapers in the wizarding world; they had deemed her as "the Maleficent Dragon" and were trying to find her origins. Nobody knew that not only was she actually a human, but my mother nonetheless. I would catch glimpses of the headlines and front pages when my professors would have copies of the papers laying around on their desk. The only person who knew besides me was Albus.
I was sitting with both of my elbows propped up on the table and my chin in both of my hands, staring off while we were eating lunch in the Great Hall. I was deep in thought, my plate of food going untouched, when someone interrupted my train of thought. "I got another letter this morning." Albus just barely whispers. I snap out of my daze and turn to him.
"Hm?"
"From your mum." he says softly. "Well- from my Uncle Fred, actually. But I think it's like last time where it's from your mum." he explains.
"Oh...okay." I say.
"When do you want to read it?" he asks me. I shrug.
"I dunno, whenever I guess." It's not that I didn't want to talk to Albus, but I didn't want to talk to Albus. I didn't want to talk to anyone in general, actually. I was feeling off all day and I didn't care if that came across as rude or not, I just wanted to be left alone and more than anything I wanted to go back to my room so I could be alone. I sighed and stood up from my seat and fixed my skirt and grabbed my bag.
"Where- where are you going?" he asks in confusion.
"To my room." I say flatly.
"But we still have classes today?" he says, now starting to follow behind me.
"I know but I simply don't care. If anyone has anything to say about it, I'll just tell my mom about it." I say, still strutting to my room.
"What is your mom going to do about it??" he asks. I spin around and face him.
"I dunno, burn the school down? You've seen her, she's powerful." I say as I spin back around, realizing the newfound power I carry being the daughter of two of the world's most powerful sorcerers. A small grin stretches on my lips. "As a matter of fact, from now on, if anyone tries to cross me or any of these teachers do something I don't like I'll just tell my mom about it. My Aunt Pansy works at the Ministry and if that doesn't work, my mom can just go all 'Maleficent' on them." I say confidently as I step into the Slytherin common room, Albus still trailing behind me.
"You're just going to ride your parent's coat tails for your own personal gain??"
"Well don't you?" I hiss as I begin picking up the pace towards my room.
"Violet!" he snaps at me, one hand on my shoulder.
"Albus!" I wail around and smack him straight across the face with the book that was in my hand. He stumbles back and I watch in horror, as I didn't mean to hit him that hard- or at all, really.
He groaned and pawed at his face and I just stood there and gawked at it. "Owww!" he moaned out. He moved his hand back and I saw that one of the lens of his glasses broke and half of his face was bruising. "What the hell Violet?!" he protested. "What was that for??"
"It's not like I meant to!" I shout at him. He keeps whining like a big baby and then I heard the voice of a teacher coming from the dark end of the corridor and I didn't want to get caught skipping class, so I just grabbed Albus' arm and began booking it down the hallway towards my room.
