-From your POV-

Viper was on the inside pocket of my robe for the ride and she began getting upset when the dementors were around, so I decided I would go to the bathroom to let her out of my pocket and try to figure out what to do for the rest of the ride.

I had one foot in the room when I felt a hand come slamming down on the door next to me, holding it open. I spun around quickly and saw Tom standing over me. "Do you want me to drop dead of a heart attack?!" I whisper shout at him.

"What're you doing??" he asks me.

"None of your business." I hiss at him. He rolls his eyes and leans against the door way.

"Considering that those dementors have reason to hunt down either of us, I would say it is my business." he says in a low tone. I sigh and look over his shoulder to check if anyone is watching. When I see that the car is barely lit and everyone is either covering their head, sleeping, or looking out the windows, I pull him into the bathroom by his collar and shut the door.

The room was very small, so we stood pressed up against opposite walls, arms crossed, and only about 8 inches of space between us. I opened my robe and reached into my pocket, freeing Viper. She poked her head out and began crawling up my arm. Tom watched in confusion for a minute but then refocused his attention on me. His gaze was just as intense as it was this time last year, building up to our relationship. "So, why did you stalk me again??" I ask in a pointed tone.

"Because dementors came around and my mind insta-" he cuts himself off. "I heard you running back here and I thought you knew something." he says in a less confident tone.

"Oh, well. Sorry to disappoint, but I know nothing. The only thing I know is that they freaked the hell out of Viper. I came here to calm her down without revealing to everyone else that I sneaked a pet back." I explain to him. He gives a single nod and tilts his head back against the wall, eyeing Viper.

"Why a drexel, of all animals?" he asks me.

"Why a basilisk of all animals?" I retort.

"Well, as the true heir of Slytherin, serpents are kind of.... my forte."

"Well as a bad bitch drexels, dragons, and all other flying reptiles are kind of my forte." I return with sass.

"What are you? The Queen of Dragons??" he asks me rhetorically.

"What are you?? The Half Blood Prince??" I mock. He just sighs and returns to his typical emotionless face. The air is tense as we continue to not say anything to each other, just stare. Our eyes were locked straight on each other, as if we were trying to read each other like a book. I take in a deep breath as I feel my heart rate pick up. I gently slide Viper back into my pocket and adjust my robes. "Well, it was lovely seeing you, but I'm leaving." I say to him in a firm tone. I gently glide past and to the door, where I slide out. All of the students were still clamoring over the dementors, so they didn't notice me too much.

I took my seat next to Draco and we picked up our conversation about the dementors. A few moments later, I felt someone's robe brush past me and instantly recognized the cologne and hair product as Tom's. My eyes just barely flicked up as I watched him walk back to his seat. I had no idea why after all these months he still had this- effect, on me. He could make my heart speed up with just his intense and deep gaze, the room would be thick and tense when it was just the two of us that close together. After all this time, being that close to him and having a conversation that wasn't about our relationship still made it feel like he stopped time.

We arrived at Hogwarts and all shuffled into the Great Hall for the typical welcoming ceremonies. Draco and I sat next to each other (of course) at the front of one of the Slytherin tables so that way we could have a clear view of the sorting ceremony. I felt a presence from behind me and then smelled that familiar scent from earlier, followed by the voice of some 7th year's banter and instantly recognized that Tom was sitting behind us. I drew in a deep breath and tried to relax as first years were being sorted left and right.

After what seemed like forever, Eva was up. I sat up straighter, in anticipation, as I watched her petite frame walk over and have the hat placed on her head. She looked like she was deep in thought about something, and then "SLYTHERIN!" the hat bellowed out. Draco lightly squeezed my arm in a congratulatory way as she began making her way over to the table. She was walking in my direction and I felt my eyebrows furrow together.

"Oh no, no no no." I tell her, causing her to stop in her tracks.

"Not going to let your little sister sit with you?" Tom chimes in from behind me. I turn my head to him.

"Not your problem, Riddle." I hiss at him before turning back to Eva. "The other first years are sitting down there. Learn your pecking order." I bark out. She rolls her eyes and starts to walk in that direction before someone behind me protests.

"Actually, there's no free seats down there. Looks like you've got to sit with Y/n." Christopher says in a mocking tone from behind me. Eva grins as she realizes the hell this is going to cause me as she sits on the bench next to me. I just draw in a deep breath and whirl around to Christopher, flicking him off.

"Why'do you hate that brunette boy so much?" Eva leans over, whispering to me. I glare down at her and see her face is flushed red.

"That's my ex-boyfriend." I say sharply, causing her eyes to widen.

"You had a boyfriend??" she whispers back in shock.

"Yes, and if you tell dad I'll set you on fire." I hiss back before leaning up straight and watching the rest of the kids get sorted.

When it was time for us to disperse to our dorms, Draco and I were walked by ourselves there among the other clusters of Slytherins making their way there. "I think they've bunked me with my sister solely because she's my sister." I complain to Draco.

"I'm so glad I'm an only child."

"Yeah, don't brag about it." I huff back, gaining a mischievous chuckle from him. We arrive at the point where the direction splits, left going to the girl's and the right going to the boy's. I gave Draco a hug and a quick kiss- which gained stares from naive first years- before turning off and heading to my room.

I waltzed in and was met by an interesting combination: Eva, Pansy Parkinson, and Vanessa Vanjie. AKA, the girl who was played by Tom last year and dumped so he could come to me. I laugh out loud to myself at the irony that I'm in. "Well fuck me." I say as I cross my arms.
