-From your POV-

I was sitting in my bed, already in a t-shirt and shorts ready to go to sleep, when I heard a light knocking on the door. I was writing in my so I had set the pen down and looked up from my writing. "Yes?" I shout towards the door. It slowly creaks open and a flash of a purple and black robe enter the doorway. I was half expecting it to be Tom, and was slightly disappointed when I realized it wasn't him. Victoria entered my room, with a spooked expression but tried to mask it with a fake smile. I set my diary down and sat up in my bed. "Victoria?".

"Hey." she whispers as she closes the door behind her.

"What are you doing here?" I ask her. She sat down on the edge of my bed and looked at me.

"You know, Riddle wasn't at the show and neither was Aria. Do you think they were, you know, together?" she asks suggestively. I already catch where she's heading with this; the thing about being a Slytherin is that people often forgot one of our biggest traits was being cunning and sly. Not to mention, the best at lying. And a good liar could sniff out a lie in a heartbeat. Showtime, again. I sit forward and get ready to play into her games.

"I mean," I shrug in between my words. "..they could've been. But she was sort of this weird beef with Draco so maybe, they were blowing off steam or something." I suggest to her. I see her searching my face for any type of reaction.

"Mmm. Maybe. You know, I've been hearing whispers that Tom has a new girlfriend. Do you think it was her? He's not even capable of loving... so what if, he had something o do with it?" she asks, still searching for a reaction.

"I mean I find him repulsive so if she was messing with him, she probably wasn't going to tell me." I say with a slight shrug and a shake of my head.  I see her sigh and give up.

"It's late, I should sneak out before I get caught. Goodnight." She says before putting her hands on her knees to support herself.

"Night Victoria." I say as she shows herself out. The smile that was on my face dropped as soon as the door shut.

Too smart for your own good. I resumed writing in my diary but this time, I started planning. I did not want Aria to die, and I most definitely did not want Victoria, or Cierra for that matter, to die. Victoria needed to stop digging now for her own sake and life would continue on as normal. I could feel my eyelids getting heavy so I decided to slide my diary under my pillow and blow out the lantern.

I woke up in the middle of the night to a footsteps outside of my door and then light tapping. I came to my senses very quickly as I pulled my wand out of my nightstand drawer. I crept to the door and then yanked it open quickly, but quietly. I see a pair of groggy dark eyes and ruffled brunette hair jump back. "Oh my God, you idiot!" I say smacking Tom's arm lightly as he calms back down.

"Y/n you just gave me a heart attack." he whispers.

"Imagine how I must feel hearing some knocking on my door at o-dark-thirty!" I whisper-shout back before pulling him inside my room by his arm. I quietly shut the door behind him. "I thought you were whoever was pounding on the door of the secret room the other night." I say to him. I tossed my wand onto my nightstand and he wrapped his arms around me, one around the small of my back and the other around the back of my head. I embraced around his torso as a response.

"I'm sorry for giving you the heebie-jeebies." he says teasingly.

"Shut up." I mumble into his chest. I was still half-awake, even though Tom made my heart rate sky rocket, but I could feel his hand lighting running over my hair. I pull my face out of his chest for a minute. "Why are you even here?" I ask him.

"Am I not allowed to visit my girlfriend?" he jokes.

"At 2 AM?" I ask.

"What? I missed you." he said.

"You can miss me some more while I sleep then." I say as I let go of him and sit down on my bed. "Joining?" I ask him as I open my arms. I see him faintly smile before he climbs into my bed and wraps his arms around me. I lay my head back down on my pillow and close my eyes.

"I love you so much, Y/n. I'd do anything for you." He whispers to me. I smile at his words and mumble back that I love him.

About a week had passed and buzz about Aria was slowly dying down. There was no information (at least none that was true) and no leads for administration to follow. Cierra was still mourning her and hoping she would come back and Victoria was becoming more and more suspecting of Tom and I by the day. For the whole week, Tom and I avoided each  other in public to try and throw her off. Bone after bone, no matter how many I threw her she never caught one. Not a single one. I didn't want to have a confrontation with her, and neither did Tom. We didn't even want to have one with Aria. We had discussed before that the only people we'd turn into horcruxes were people who were menaces. Evil people. We even considered sneaking to prisons and knocking off the most violent of criminals. In a way, we weren't doing anything that bad. We simply wanted power and immortality; not hasty feuds and a complicated future. The biggest problem was trust issues.

I was reading a book, peacefully, at the table in the Great Hall. Cierra was at the table earlier, but she said she was tired so she retired to her dorm to take a nap and Victoria wasn't there, leaving me by myself. I didn't mind though; I quite enjoyed the quiet. I had no idea where Victoria was. Every so often, I would peek up from my book and look around. This time, I had looked up and caught Tom's eyes. He kept his typical resting bitch face but gave me a quick wink and I looked down at my book and smiled.

THUMP!

The thud of a book hitting the table interrupted my reading. I looked up and saw an angry Victoria standing up with her arms crossed. "I know you're dating Tom." she said angrily.

"Excuse me?" I asked.

"You heard me." she snapped back. "You lied about having anything to do with him. How do I know you're not lying about not knowing anything about Aria??" she accuses. I scoff at her boldness.

"Are you accusing me of doing something to my best friend?? My sister??" I feel myself getting angry. Her eyebrows slowly rose as her folded arms became undone.

"I-I wasn't- I wasn't trying to-" she starts panicking.

"That's right. You weren't trying." I say calmly. I stand up and fix my neck tie. We were now inches apart from each other and I flick my eyes across the room, where they lock with Tom's. I reach up and grab her long braided hair. "Victoria, have you ever heard of the saying 'curiosity killed the cat'?" I ask her, still playing with the auburn locks. She just silently nods. I look into her eyes. "I do not have anything to do with Aria's disappearance. I know someone does, but I don't poke around in case I'm next. Do you understand? I miss Aria dearly, but all this investigating makes me think that you had something to do with her disappearing. Now, is that so?" I say to her in a low but calm tone.

"I don't know anything." she says on the verge of tears.

"Okay, good." I say with a smile as I put her braid back on her shoulder. "Now, if you'll excuse me, I have some studying to do." .I pull her into a hug before I leave. "I do miss her more than anything. I hope I never feel that way again." I say in a low tone before letting go and walking off.
