Finish Line

I decided to go on and live my life. I decided to smile despite the unexplainable pain I'm feeling inside. I decided to cage the coldness of my soul, because I know, that's how you want me to continue living. You don't want me to pretend, you want me to be genuinely happy even without you.

If that is want you want, then I will. I don't want them to know that you left me with just a "good night" because I don't want to explain to them that we do not have any other choice but to say goodbye. I don't want them to have a bad impression of you.

But, then again, they don't have to understand, they don't have to try either. They can say whatever they like about you, but, truth will still remain: I'm going to wait for you, no matter how long it takes.

So, settle everything quick, love, then come back to me. I promise you won't have to go back from where you left me, because I will walk further.

We may have no other choice but to bid farewell, but, I will still walk with you, because I have you and your memories in my heart.

Until then, love, stay strong. I'll be waiting for you at the finish line.
