He grabbed the sleeve of her jacket and in a blink they were downstairs.

Lena blinked harshly for a moment, her head spinning. When she caught her bearings she smacked him in the chest with the back of her arm.

He held the sore spot, offended, opening his mouth to say something but she did so first.

"Warning," she remind him with fiery glowing eyes. She saw it in the reflection of his pupils and pointed at him for emphasis.

He shook his head and lead her outside, grabbing an umbrella on the way out as she listened to the patter of raindrops on the windows. They stepped out into the cool rain and she crept closer to him, linking their arms to stay under the shelter. They only had to wait for Pogo and their mother to show up before the procession started.

All the while Lena couldn't help but stare at the well spoken chimpanzee. Seeing the sight for the first time was a trip in itself and something she expected to imagine up in a book, not in real life.

Luther, Diego, Allison, Klaus and Vanya all stood in a sort of semi circle, along with a woman with beautifully coiled blonde hair and red lips, wearing a fifties inspired skirt. She briefly remember that to be their mother figure from Five's stories. Pogo, in his lovely smart suit approached the centre next to Luther.

"Did something happen?" Grace asked cluelessly.

Even Five frowned slightly at that, but he tried not to let it show.

Allison spoke up, "dad died. Remember?"

"Oh," she suddenly looked crestfallen. "Yes, of course."

"Is mom okay?" She asked quietly.

Diego responded unconvincingly, "yeah, yeah she's fine. She just needs to rest. You know, recharge."

Pogo turned to Luther who was holding the urn. "Whenever you're ready, dear boy."

Lena had never felt more out of place among these entirely strange people. She was at a funeral of a man she had never met and likely wouldn't have chosen to if he was alive, judging by the stories she had heard.

She shifted slightly and put her hands deep in my pockets, warming them up.

Luther paused before taking the lid off the urn and unceremoniously dumping the ashes into a pile on the floor.

An eyebrow quirked, it took a lot for her to keep her mouth shut.

"Probably would have been better with some wind," Luther admitted, glancing around at the disappointed faces.

"Does anyone wish to speak?" Pogo asked. After a long silence, he chose to continue himself. "Very well. In all regards, Sir Reginald Hargreeves made me what I am today. For that alone, I shall forever be in his debt. He was my master, and my friend, and I shall miss him very much. He leaves behind a complicated legacy-"

"He was a monster," Diego cut in bluntly.

"Here we go." Five muttered in her ear.

Klaus let out a long laugh, holding his cigarette close under his pink children's umbrella as number two continued. "He was a bad person and an even worse father. The worlds better off without him."

Quietly, Lena wondered if her family had had a funeral, too. If her two sisters and brother were buried with her mother and father. If anyone visited them. Though her parents weren't kind to her at all, she had been old enough to know back then that they did not deserve the end they received.

"Diego-" Allison tried.

"My name is number two," Diego spat. "You know why? Because our father couldnt be bothered to give us actual names. He had mom do it."
