Five was a tad confused when he awoke clinging to Lena like a koala bear to a tree. He didn't complain, embracing her natural warmth, but it was odd even for their relationship standards.

Now he was sobering up, and sat on the edge of the bed with his elbows resting on his knees, hands clasped together. His hair was messy, strands falling across his forehead. Shd had placed herself next to him.

"When's it supposed to happen? This apocalypse."

Five shrugged slightly. "I can't give you the exact hour, but from what I could gather, we have four days left."

"Why didn't you say anything sooner?" Luther demanded, eyes dancing between Lena and Five. She wanted to say that it wasn't her place to say, but she know that was bullshit.

"It wouldnt have mattered," Five whispered.

She watched a frown appear on the mans face as he tried to understand a world where it didn't matter.

"Of course it would. We could've banded together and helped try to stop this thing," Luther reasoned and she felt her heart sink. Because she knew exactly what had happened the first time.

And Five made sure he knew too.

"For the record, you already tried," his voice was quiet.

"What do you mean?"

Five hesitated, hating the fact that he'd have to say his next words out loud again. She could see the pain on his face despite the fact he tried to hide it.

"I found all of you," Five sounded pained as he remembered the horrors he had to face, all flooding back to him at once. Her knee brushed against his, and she kept it there to let him know she was with him. Then, she watched his eyes flicker up to look directly at Luther. "Your bodies."

"We die?"

Luther's voice was tight and fearful, and it stirred something within Lena seeing the man, usually strong and confident, turned to what seems like a small, frightened child.

"Horribly," Five added sadly. Lena squeezed his hand, hoping to provide a shred of comfort for the boy she had grown to love. "But you were together. Trying to stop whomever it is that ends the world."

Luther was conflicted at first, then he realised something. "Wait, how do you know that?"

Five sighed and dug his hand into his blazer pocket, where he revealed the glass eyeball and handed it over to a very confused Luther. The very thing they had spent decades pondering.

"That was clutched in your dead hand when I found you," he stated and Luther swallowed hard. "Mustve ripped it out of their head right before you went down."

For a moment, Luther just stared at the eyeball in his hand. He was beyond puzzled and completely overwhelmed, understandably. It was a lot to take in. "Who's head?"

"Like I said, I dont know."

Luther sat up quickly. "Well, theres a serial number on the back. Maybe you could try-"

Upon hearing this something inside of me snapped.

"The fucking serial number led to a fucking building that fucking blew up and almost killed us," Lena revealed, clutching Five's hand incredibly tightly while her eyes softly glowed orange. "There are no more leads and no way of figuring out who the eyeball belongs to."

"It's a dead end," Five agreed despondantly. "Its just another hunk of glass."

Luther handed back the eye and he pocketed it with the cloth again.
