Lena took a seat next to Five, who was between herself and Sir Reginald (and probably for the best.) This bar was tremendously quieter; the room was dim, the only lights on being the ones behind the bar that was empty and more modern looking given the time period.

She was just there for moral support, to listen, to be there for Five as he asked for help, for information.

It was strange seeing a child ask his father for guidance - if sir Reginald could even be called that - when the former was so callous and the latter already so wise. Watching the scenario just felt wrong, everything disjointed. And God, weren't they all just that?

Disjointed in time, in reality.

"You seem to be the sensible one of the bunch."

"That's because I'm the oldest," Five revealed seriously. "Technically I'm older than you right now."

"Technically I'm even older..." Lena muttered in disdain, the thought alone troubling.

Sir Reginald eyed the two for a moment before humming and offering a drink. "Cognac?"

Five glanced to Lena who shrugged. "Just a smidge."

Lena accepted the drink the bartender offered her with a blank smile, crossing one leg over the other to rest her arm on it.

Reginald continued. "The other night you quoted Homer at me. Why?"

"You forced us all to learn it as kids. In the original Greek, no less."

Lena couldn't help but remember that her mother had made her learn Bible verses in Spanish. It was such a faint memory, but she did maintain it. She also recalled that her mother forced her to learn it for hours longer than her siblings because she was different, and that was her punishment for existing, she guessed.

She watched Five take a sip of his drink solemnly, the reality of their situation sinking in far too much for her liking.

"The world ends in five days if we don't get out of this timeline."

Sir Reginald shrugged one shoulder, unbothered. "Worlds end. Paleozoic, Jurassic, and so on..."

She frowned and forced herself to drink, biting back from saying what she wanted to say. In this situation it just wasn't worth it.

Five tried pressing the matter, "we can do something about this one."

"Not to mention it wouldn't happen in the first place if we hadn't landed in this timeline," Lena couldn't help but add, the alcohol burning her throat and creating warmth under her skin. "It isn't the natural order of things for it to happen - which means we have to stop it."

Reginald glanced between the two and shook his head sligthly.

"Man's greatest flaw: the illusion of control."
