When Lena awoke, she was wrapped up in bedsheets in the guest bedroom, curled up with her head on Five's chest as he slept. The sound of his gentle heart beat soothed her soul, the calmest she had ever seen him in a very long time, which was a depressing thought if she lingered on it too long. The only time she ever saw him relaxed was when he allowed himself to sleep.
No clue what the time was, Lena considered allowing herself to fall back asleep, content with being tucked in against his side and the warmth of the blankets around her. The only thing that kept her from doing so was the constant chatter from the boys in the kitchen. The sound drifted through the thin walls and kept her up, though didn't disturb the boy beneath her at all and she wasn't going to disrupt that.
She would allow Five all the time he needed to rest; if anyone needed it, it was him.
So after catching the scent of eggs cooking drifting through the halls, Lena reluctantly prised herself from his side. Or tried to.
His arm tightened around her waist and he turned to face her, hugging her close to his body as his face buried in her hair, a line forming between his eyebrows as he refused to let her go.
She sighed against his collar, sending a wave of goosebumps across his skin. She certainly wasn't going to complain at their close proximity but she knew at least one of them had to get up at some point.
"Don't leave," he murmured tiredly into her hair. "You're warm."
She giggled under her breath and fought to pull away from him slightly, craning her neck back so she could see him properly. His eyes were still shut, but he cracked one open a tiny bit to see her.
"You're sweet, cariño, but we have responsibilities." She pressed a sweet kiss to his lips that certainly woke him up as he responded. He chased after her lips right after she pulled away, not even counting a single second to catch her breath until she was on her back and he held himself over her. She smiled into the kiss and fell into a fit of soft giggles, forcing him to stop.
When their eyes locked, his were tired, but lit with something else as he stared down at her with a lopsided grin.
"That woke you up, didn't it?" She mused.
His hair fell messily across his forehead as he tilted his head coyly. "You, my dear, are a menace." He muttered with a croaky, deeper voice that sent warmth to her cheeks.
She hummed and swatted him off of her, which he relented to, too tired physically to put up much of a fight.
Still in her underwear, Lena slid her legs over the side of the bed and picked up her jeans to put back on.
She heard a groan behind her. "Why do we have to get up?"
He couldnt help but lie there staring at her bare back, eyes roaming the tattoos and huge scar on her back that he had spent the night tracing with his fingertips, wishing to just go back to that moment all over again and forget everything else.
Her messy hair fell in her face as she stood to latch the button of her loose jeans, a lazy grin forming. "Because time is never on our side-"
"-it was last night-" He muttered under his breath.
She ignored him. "-and we have responsibilities as the oldest of the group; they wouldn't know how to tie their shoes without us."
He made a slight noise of agreement as she heard shuffling of the sheets behind her. As she left Five to properly dress himself, she glimpsed his white shirt lying haphazardly on the floor and swiped it up to throw on herself.
He glanced at her as he slid on his shoes, shaking his head as his eyes lingered on the soft, dark spots of bruises along the side of her neck and trailing down her collar that she purposely didn't bother buttoning up enough to hide it.
