Chapter 56 - Unable To Retrieve The Jade Pendant

"I want to talk to daddy...." XiaoNai immediately huddled in towards the phone and can't wait to hear her daddy's voice.

XiaoRui was not amused and gave her sister the death stare, "I need to have a serious talk with daddy, can you step aside...."

"Nooooo, no way... Let me talk to daddy for awhile, then I will hand him over to you." XiaoNai whined as she selfishly hogged the phone and won't let go. XiaoRui had no choice but to let her have the phone instead.

The phone rang a few times and XiaoHan immediately picked up the call, his voice was transmitted over the phone, "Who's there..."

"Daddy, it's me...." XiaoNai called out excitedly, XiaoRui almost dropped the phone as he got a shock.

"Shhhh, you need to be quieter, don't let mummy hear us!" XiaoRui immediately hushed his sister.

XiaoNai was also shocked and quickly lowered her volume to a whisper, "Daddy, do you miss us? I missed you so much!"

"XiaoNai, daddy have been thinking about you too.... " XiaoHan's melancholic mood was lifted the the moment he hear his sweet daughter's voice and his own voice became so much softer and gentler.

"Brother and I secretly made this call to you, mummy doesn't know....."

"Ok, don't ever let her know, else daddy cannot hear your voice anymore." XiaoHan said mischievously, teaching his innocent little daughter all the wrong stuff.

"Ok, brother said he have something important to talk to you about!" XiaoNai was very happy to hear her daddy's voice and to know that he was missing her, however she saw her brother's impatient expression on the side and stuck out her tongue playfully, but sensibly handed the phone back to him.

XiaoRui was not as delicate as her sister, after all, he was the big brother.

"XiaoRui, are you there? Why aren't you talking? Still angry with daddy?" XiaoHan was worried when it was all silent on the other side of the phone.

"Daddy, allow me to ask something, do you intend to marry my mummy at all?" XiaoRui asked in his utmost serious tone.

XiaoHan did not expect his son to be so persistent with this matter, sigh, he really have such a tough kid to handle.

"If you can convince your mummy to move to my place here, I will consider this matter properly." XiaoHan is having a real headache here too, as this is no longer an issue of whether he should marry her or not, but rather that woman did not even want to marry him at all.

"But, mummy said she hates you." XiaoRui sighed.

XiaoHan's voice went up a couple of pitches, "She really said that?"

"Yup, daddy, did you do something to make mummy angry and make her hate you so much? Otherwise, just apologise to her, mummy is not the type to remember grievances, just talk to her nicely, then we can see each other again."

XiaoHan felt incredulous, this woman actually hated him? Hah, on what basis?

"Ok, I will go and apologise to her tomorrow. You and XiaoNai also must help daddy put in some good words with her ok?" XiaoHan made a decision right there and then, for the sake of his two precious children, he was willing to throw away his ego and pride and take the initiative to butter up to that woman.

"Really? Then that's great...."

Right at that moment, the door to their bedroom swung open, YouYou's voice floated in, "XiaoRui Tang, did you take my phone to play games again? How many times have I told you....."

XiaoRui was caught off guard when his mummy came into the room, he was so shocked that he dropped the phone on the floor. Just then, XiaoHan's panicked voice rang loud and clear through the phone. "Son.... XiaoNai, are you still there? Daddy still want to talk to you."

YouYou's face turned white with anger when she heard that man's voice coming from the phone, she grabbed her phone from the floor and ended the call. The two little fella immediately dipped their heads and looked guilty.

"Who made the phone call?" YouYou looked at her children's guilt-ridden, one after another as she demanded an explanation. The two little rascals even knew not to rat each other out, their mouth remained shut, both refusing to admit to the deed. YouYou saw the two very determined face, and suddenly felt flustered.

She really did not want to punish them for such a small mistake, so she knelt down, patted their cheeks gently and said, "Ok, it's getting late, get to sleep now."

"Mummy.... Daddy said he missed me!" XiaoNai has always been the happy-go-lucky one and always say whatever comes to her mind. Right now she was so bursting with happiness and just want to share that happiness with her mummy.

YouYou's heart ached when she heard what her daughter said. She kissed her little cheek and gently replied, "I know, go sleep now!"

Next day morning, YouYou was completely lethargic and felt depressed. She had nightmares the whole of last night, in every one of the nightmare, she dreamt that her children was taken away from her by XiaoHan in every way possible. She cried and chased after him and her children in her dreams for the entire night.

"Bastard..." YouYou got up from her bed feeling sore all over and couldn't help but swore early in the morning. She then made a call to the kindergarten to inform the teacher that her children would not be in school today. Then she got her aunt to help look after her two children at him. She then flagged down a cab and went to the Tang mansion early in the morning.

XueRou had been trying to reach HuiYi all morning, but was unable to reach her on the phone at all. She was so infuriated that her face has turned as black as the kettle. Her servant then approached her and informed her that YouYou has arrived. XueRou froze and panicked, YouYou must be here for the jade pendant.

What is she going to do now? That wretched HuiYi Zhang, really had no intention of honouring their friendship and even refused to pick up the call now. Even though she had issues retrieving the jade pendant, she still went down to meet YouYou.

"YouYou, you are here bright and early!" XueRou immediately put on a fake smile and for the first time ever, she called out her name friendly and politely.

YouYou was momentarily disgusted by her hypocritical act and coldly said, "I recall you still owe me my jade pendant!"

"Regarding that.... YouYou, not sure if you have noticed, I have added an additional $10 million to your account, how about this... That jade pendant should be worth that much, just take it that you have sold it to me alright?" XueRou negotiated, "That jade pendant is really not worth anything much, however I understand it is of great importance to you, so I am offering $10 million for it."

YouYou already saw the money transferred to her account this morning, she did noticed that XueRou transferred $60 million to her instead.

"Where did that jade pendant gone to?" YouYou creased her forehead and asked.

"I guess it must have been lost, my friend said that day she recalled not taking it with her, then it must have been lost. YouYou I'm really sorry, if I knew how important that jade pendant was to you, I would have kept it safe, but right now I am also at my wit's end. I promise you, I will keep look for the jade pendant, once I've found it, I will have it sent over to you alright? So you must definitely leave today!" XueRou wished she could bestow YouYou with a pair of wings so that she could fly away this instance.

YouYou also wished she could leave this instance, looking at XueRou's expression, she could tell that she wasn't lying, however she was still a little angry with her.

"Then you must continue to find the jade pendant for me, once you've found it, you must return it to me." YouYou reminded her.

"Certainly! I have no interest in that jade pendant anyway!" XueRou immediately assured her.
