Chapter 67 - Surprised Or Not

Even though the bed was at least 2m wide, due to the kiddo wanting the two person she loved so much to be close to her, the distance between YouYou and XiaoHan was a mere two handspan away. YouYou lay on her back thinking how she used to be able to fall asleep quickly and easily. Now though.....

Right beside her lay a man literally like a wild beast, his predatory gaze kept staring at her and made her feel extremely uncomfortable. With her nerves so tensed, there is no way she could fall asleep so quickly too. The little fella fell asleep within minutes after a whole day of play and excitement, at this moment, the room was so silent that they could hear each other's unregulated breathing sounds. Just as YouYou was about to fall asleep, the man beside her suddenly said something in his low pitch voice and momentarily woke her up.

"You bastard" she scolded quietly. YouYou was already fuming inside when she went to bed, she didn't expect that man give her trouble even as she was about to sleep.

"She has slept, you can scram now." YouYou stared at him coldly, even before she finished her sentence, she lashed out with kick using her leg as she planned to kick the man off the bed. Unfortunately, that man seem to have correctly predicted her violent tendencies and anticipated the kick. He raised one of his strong and long legs and quickly clamped down on YouYou's incoming leg and held it hostage.

"Let go!" YouYou was exploding soon anger, she didn't expect him to anticipate her move this way.

"You better know your limits, don't you even realise whose bed you are sleeping on?" XiaoHan replied in his low pitch quiet tone veiled with warning. YouYou turned white with rage, and retorted, "Sure, I will know my limits, but you better release my leg now and go back to your own room to sleep, stop disturbing me from resting."

"This IS my room." The man said matter of factly, no afraid of pissing her off.

YouYou was speechless, so she could only reply through her tweet, "Let go of my leg, I will go next door and sleep with my son then."

"When she wakes up, she's going to look for you." when XiaoHan heard that she intend to leave the room, he released her leg from his grip and proceeded to remind her.

"We will see how when she wakes up then." YouYou really cannot stand lying down beside him for even a moment longer as she sense danger lurking beside her that couldn't put her at ease. Just as YouYou decide to gently remove the little hands that are hugging her arm, her daughter's eyes flutter wide open by the movement, she then subconsciously hugged on to her arm tighter and even leaned her forehead into her arm as she grumpily called out to her mummy.

YouYou was quickly devastated, she knew her daughter is a light sleeper and often would wake up suddenly in the middle of the night, she was concerned that she would wake up again later and start crying for the rest of the night. A muffled laughter came from the man beside him, as though he had watched a particularly funny comedy playing out in front of him. YouYou really cant be bothered with him, can't he be a little more normal? How could he still laugh at her when he saw their daughter holding on ever more tightly to her, refusing to let her go?

"Alright, enough with disturbing you already, get to sleep." XiaoHan noticed YouYou was really tired and it's written all over her little face, however she was forcing herself to stay awake for whatever reasons and she looked rather pitiful. YouYou was of course exhausted, with her nerves tensed up for the past few days, at this moment, she really didn't want to give a damn about anything and just wanted to sleep.

XiaoHan finally stopped prancing her, his deep soulful eyes looked at his daughter gently, with his hearts full of gratitude and satisfaction. He found it strange how he felt so different about his son in comparison to how he felt for his daughter. In a way, he knew his son is always his and he will never go anywhere, however when it comes to his daughter, he knew that someday she will marry someone else and become someone else's precious, so he had to pamper her every second he could, else he felt like he would lose a second of their time together.

XiaoHan momentarily felt the heavy responsibilities of being a father and he could understand the complexities of feelings towards his daughter. Sigh, these feelings can be really smothering. when he has finally calmed his own heart down, he raised his and saw that that woman had finally fell asleep.

As their daughter hugged one of her arm to sleep, she too turned over and moved in closer towards their daughter habitually. At this moment, YouYou's sleeping face was what XiaoHan saw in his eyes. A small nightlight was turned on in the room and dimly lit the room, however XiaoHan was still able to clearly see YouYou's face. Even though she is asleep, her beautifully crafted eyebrow was deeply knitted, as though she had tonnes of worries hidden in her heart.

He guess all the worrisome issues she had must have started because of him. Such a stubborn woman, if only she could let go of their past grievances and work towards a harmonious co-existence with him, she wouldn't have so much perplexing issues to begin with. However XiaoHan also noticed that this woman is very unlike the other women who literally fell head over heels and swarm around him like bees to honey when they see him. In fact, she wasn't even the slightest bit interested with anything to do it's him, how noble. However it's precisely her attitude towards him that gave him a sense of being challenged and that he must conquer it. He wanted to see how mesmerising she would look like when she too fell head over heels for him and looked at him with love. XiaoHan felt like this is definitely an interesting challenge for him and one he look forward to achieving.

Midnight, where the world was utterly silent and everyone was deeply entrenched in their dreamworlds, XiaoHan was peacefully and deeply asleep for the first time in a very long while, as if nothing in this world is worrisome for him. Suddenly, he sensed something was awry, in his dreams, it felt like he was drenched in the rain and it was wet everywhere. XiaoHan moved his fingers a little and suddenly his handsome sharp eyes fluttered open, he then touched at area near his waist with his finger and realised that it was wet. He dumbly used his hands and shook YouYou awake.

YouYou was immediately awaken by his shaking and warily stared at him as she asked, "What you want?"

"Why is the bed here so wet?" XiaoHan pointed his fingers at the wet spot on the bed. YouYou's gaze followed where his fingers pointed and her pretty little mouth quirked up into a tiny smile as she smugly said, "Seems like our daughter just wet the bed."

"What?!" XiaoHan could not believe what he just heard, he stared at his daughter still deeply asleep and wondered how an almost four year old kiddo could still wet her bed asleep.

"When she is at an unfamiliar place, sometimes this happens." YouYou replied as if this was nothing new.

"Then what now?" XiaoHan had absolutely no idea how to handle such situations, so he started to panic.

YouYou looked at that man who is starting to panic and really wished she could ignore him, however her daughter have also wetted her own pants, so she still have to deal with the situation. So she got up and opened the cabinet to grab a clean pair of pants.

"Mr Ji, I Guess you better change to another room to sleep in, oh, and do bathe again." YouYou said sarcastically to him as she proceeded to change her daughter's pants. XiaoHan looked like he still needed more sleep, however when he saw that his daughter had not even stirred at all when her pants was changed he can't help but laughed.

"Alright, I will go and sleep my son then. Do get some sleep after you have changed XiaoNai's pants." XiaoHan finally understood that having kids and needing to manage them is really not an easy task. YouYou was surprised by what he just said, like that was the first humanistic comment he ever made, so she raised her head and looked at him, but did not gave any replies.

XiaoHan went next door to where his son slept and saw that he had already taken up half of the bed with his tiny little body. He rubbed his forehead at the sight of it.
