Chapter 62 - He Says That He Despise Her

YouYou's expression also became uptight and serious, she replied blandly, "Who I met, is really none of your business."

"I heard that you have quite a number of suitors, how could you expose the children so early in their life to the complexities of adult relationship?" XiaoHan could not forget the image of his daughter counting off her fingers as she listed out the number of guys and end up not being able continue when she have used up all her fingers....

YouYou furrowed her well crafted eyebrows and looked incredulously at the man, "Who told you that?"

"Of course the children said that."

"You believed what children said? Just how naive and childish are you." YouYou replied incredulously.

XiaoHan's handsome face darkened further, because he was scolded out of the blue. Since young, no one have ever dared to scold him childish, this woman in front of him have crossed his bottom line time and again ever since he knew her.

"YouYou Tang, don't think for once that because you gave birth to my children that you can do and say whatever you like. I'm warning you now, if you dare to scold me again, I will not spare you." XiaoHan displayed his absolute authority to scare her into submission.

However YouYou was unmoved, she pursed her small lips then said, "I am tired, is there a bedroom upstairs? I want to take a nap."

XiaoHan completely did not expect this woman to not only scold him outright, but to also completely ignore his existence, it really made him fuming mad. "You are really so carefree and trusting to go to sleep in my house? Not afraid that I will go and sleep with you again?" XiaoHan suddenly commented evilly.

YouYou stared at him annoyed as she replied, "Who was the one who said not to expose the children too early to the complexities of adult relationships? If you really sleep with me again and the children get to know it, how do you think they will regard you? Beast, gangster? Or an animal that can only think with his lower body?"

XiaoHan froze on the spot,  this woman dared to openly discuss such matter with him, and wasn't even afraid to let their children know? What kind of education is she even giving to her children? XiaoHan was only trying to intimidate her earlier on, so he didn't want to actually do anything to her.

"Hmph, you can sleep in peace, you are not even desirable enough for me to take action." He replied with sarcasm.

"Great, honestly, everyone thought that you look really handsome and whatnot, but I don't think so at all." YouYou refused to back down and rebutted him.

This is the first time XiaoHan's self esteem was so severely shaken, he couldn't believe that a woman actually said that she was not interested in him. Is this woman blind? He was clearly possessing such exceptional looks that can bring the world to a stop, however she did not even care to look at him at all.

YouYou casually climbed up the staircase to the second floor and left an agitated XiaoHan to his own thoughts in the living room. She pushed open the door to the first guest room, and collapsed onto the bed completely exhausted. ever since XiaoHan knew of the children's existence, her nerves had been strung tightly like the strings on the violin, that is ready to snap anytime. She had been having nightmares every night since and haven't been able to sleep properly. At this moment, everything is somewhat settled, so she can finally go to sleep peacefully. Since she cannot avoid nor escape the situation, the sooner she accept reality, the sooner she can move on to better things ahead.

Her children needs their father's love and affection, so she shouldn't be so selfish to deny them the opportunity to be loved. YouYou took a nap and by the time she woke up, the skies have turned to dusk. Her sweet little daughter was found cuddling right next to her, still asleep.

YouYou looked at her daughter's adorable sleeping posture, her two little hands must hug one of her arm and she must have her face closely leaning onto her in order to fall asleep, this is clearly due to a lack of sense of security, that's why she slept that way. YouYou felt her heart ached as she looked at her asleep, not sure if it was because of the lack of a father's affection from young, that resulted in her daughter being a little timid and have since never dared to sleep alone. On the other hand, her son have always been the independent one from young, he has always enjoyed sleeping alone on his own bed and never need to rely on her.

YouYou glanced over to the clock and noticed that it is already 7pm, she remembered that XiaoHan had suggested to have dinner together, so she gently shook her daughter's little body to wake her up, "XiaoNai, time to wake up, it's already getting dark!"

XiaoNai woke up in a daze, she blinked her sleepy eyes a few times and said, "Mummy, sleep a little bit more ok!"

"Didn't you agreed with daddy to have dinner with him? If you continue to sleep, then no you'll miss dinner already." YouYou smiled gently. XiaoNai rolled out of bed, and stood up wavering a little as her little body is trying to wake up but her determination was very sharp, "Oh yes, daddy wants to bring us out for dinner, mummy, lets hurry up and go down now!" YouYou nodded her head and off they went!

What she didn't know was that while she was deeply asleep, XiaoHan carried their daughter into the room and gently put XiaoNai down beside her. He then looked at her exhausted sleeping face for awhile before he quietly left the room. XiaoHan's attitude towards YouYou had gradually shifted in the past two days, from initially wanting to take the two children away from her forcefully to wanting to co-exist with her for the sake of their children. XiaoHan have never handled kids before in the past, so he didn't realise that to look after children, it's more than just ensuring they are well fed and clothed, he had to invest all of his energy, time and patience to accompany them on their growing up journey.

Within these two days, he had pushed aside all of his work and dedicated all of his time to accompany his children and suddenly realised that his children's happy and joyous smiles was only possible because of having both parents around them. Before this, he had many strong opinions about YouYou and felt that she was unreasonable, stubborn and doesn't know what's good for her. Right now though, he admired her strength and determination as a single mother raising two children as he realised this was not an easy feat. Because of understanding, he naturally became magnanimous and XiaoHan's current inner world was peaceful. However, right now, his felt his peace getting threatened as he saw that woman walking down from above.

YouYou held on to her daughter's hands as they descended from the second floor.

"Daddy, where's brother?" XiaoNai immediately ran over to XiaoHan happily, requested to be hugged. XiaoHan embraced his daughter and his deep eyes gazed over to YouYou. Her skin was already flawless and shimmering, but a good sleep actually enhanced it and brought out a healthy sheen, this made her looked even more alluring and charming and his heart did an involuntary leap.

"Your brother got Uncle Yuan to play toys with him." XiaoHan quietly replied his daughter.

"Are we going out for dinner now? I'm feeling hungry already." the little fella rubbed her little tummy and looked famished.

XiaoHan looked at his daughter's straightforward and adorable look and gave a little peck on her little face with his thin lips as he gently replied, "Let's go, we go get your brother then we can go for dinner."

YouYou who stood on the side, felt rather out of place, she saw how close her daughter and XiaoHan was together and her heart was feeling all sorts of emotions, however she also felt an indescribable sense of happiness, because she wondered if her daughter will overcome her timidness now that she has her daddy beside her?
