Niall's P.O.V.

Six days, four shows, and what seemed to be an eternity of silence passed by agonizingly slow. Liam was obviously still not talking to me, which I completely understood why. As soon as the words left my mouth, I instantly regretted even thinking such things, making me want to take them back right away. He was my best friend, my brother, but nothing I could think of could mend things between us. Numerous attempts on my end have been made to even get him to hear me out, but all I got in response was a door slamming in my face.

During the last few shows we've had, he would stay distant from me both during sound check and the actual concert itself. Not even a second glance would go my way, which continued to add to my dismay. Harry, Louis, and Zayn noticed the increasing tension between us, but did little to relive any of it. But I had no right to be mad at them for not helping me, because I was the one who told them not to tell Liam.
Liam ignored the three lads for the first two days before resuming talking to them. It physically pained me to see him getting along with the others, while he would just shoot me death glares whenever he looked my way.

On the bright side, surprisingly there was one, Aubrey and I ended up being roomies for the remaining portion of the first half of the tour, and hopefully the next half. She tried to help me forget about the constant burden on my shoulders by talking to me about random things, or getting me into reading, which I found absolutely ridiculous- that earned me yet another slap upside my head. Nonetheless, I was glad that our relationship was still in tact, having a little more private time together.

Today on the agenda we were scheduled to perform at Rockefeller Center for New Year's Eve. Once the news got to Aubrey, she looked like she was about to burst through the roof with excitement. Even if it was just for a little bit, she was so excited to go visit home. Once we were done with New York, we were headed off to Miami to finish up the U.S. tour, then we were headed off to Brazil, which was undeniably one of my favorite places on the planet.

"Excited fer t'day?" I nudged Aubrey as we walked out of the elevator and back towards our hotel room. We had just finished breakfast at the cafe downstairs, which was surprisingly empty. I had expected a few fans, maybe a pap or two, but nothing. Don't get wrong it was nice, but it was just odd.

"Yeah, what better way to start off the New Year at home," she happily replied as I opened the door for her. "And you." I heard quietly add right as I closed the door behind us.

"Me, huh?" I smirked at her. Looking away with her blushed cheeks, she walked off to the bed and laid herself upon it. Soon enough, I had joined her on the bed, laying parallel to her with my nose directly on her hair.

"Yer hair smells like vanilla, mmm," I said as I inhaled the scent radiating off of her hair.

"Thanks?" Aubrey replied.

"Today's New Year's Eve," I stated while I attempted at bringing my hand under her waist.

"Really? I thought it was Christmas Eve," she jokingly replied as she squirmed away from me.

"Don't be such a smart ass Aubrey," I scoffed as I sat myself up. With my two hands positioned at her sides, I lifted her off the bed and rolled her back onto me.

"Hey," she breathed out against my face now that our foreheads were pressed against each other and noses were brushing.

"Hiya," I breathed back.

"So New Year's Eve, huh?" She wiggles her eyebrows at me, widening the grin across my face. This girl was pure and utter torture, but not in the negative sense. No matter what she always found a way to dive me crazy, but the good kind. I was falling for her harder and harder by the day, and I wasn't regretting a single bit of it.b
