This is a sum up of how it all plays together-
Gabriel tells Jesse to take (d/n) and raise her in a good home while Gabriel goes and joins talon in order to take revenge on Jack. Gabriel goes through with some of Moria's experiments in order to become stronger and becomes Reaper. Jesse went to jail and therefore lost (d/n). She went to live in Dorado with a family which she grew up with and didn't know any better. Later on she becomes Sombra and joins talon as one of the greatest hackers of all time. Once Jesse gets out of jail years later he has no idea where (d/n) is and so he search's for echo so she can help him find her.
Gabriel hunts down any overwatch agents that had anything to do with Jack Morrison so he can question them about where this so called 'hero' is. If he doesn't get the answer he wants then he kills them. Gabriel won't rest until he kills the man for killing his wife.
See it kind of ties in with the real story just twisted a little.
