Fresh start

It's unbelievable how quickly time is passing by. It seems like we just brought Sara home from the hospital and here were are, four months later. Sara is the most precious girl, just as beautiful as her mother, she's also a demanding little one. If there's something little miss Sara wants, she gets it, again, like mother like daughter.

Stevie and I have grown so much closer together as well. So much so, we decided to get married again and we did. Our wedding was a small affair. We've had it over the top the first time, this was just for us. We've also just moved into a new house, fresh start Stevie said. A lot has happened in the past few months, but it's all been very good.

I see Stevie standing in the hallway of our new home, she smiles very pleased I'd say. I hug her from behind and kiss the top of her head. God, who would have thought? I definitely didn’t see myself being with her ever again, but I love the turn our fate has taken.

"Are you happy with the way it turned out?" I ask regarding the house. “Do you like it? Or shall we start redesigning right away?”

She shakes her head. “No, everything’s just as I wanted it to be.”

"Good, I'm glad. It cost a lot of money."

"I can pay you back if you want." She rolls her eyes at me, turning in my arms. “Sara's having a nap.”

“Are you hinting at something?” I raise my eyebrow.

“Hold me for a minute, baby."

“Stay with you a while too?" I laugh holding her close to me.

“Forever.” She nods with a smile on her face.

Suddenly I feel an urge to give her not a very innocent kiss, which she can’t seem to resist. She throws her hands around my neck and moans as I draw her even closer.

I don’t even notice how we make our way from the hallway to the kitchen. She breaks the kiss and gasps for air only to be lifted on the kitchen table. “Linds, what are you…”

“You know full well, sweetheart.” I wink at her and lift the shirt she's wearing over her head.

My lips settle on hers again for a short moment, then I kiss, lick and nibble the flesh of her neck and she wraps her legs around my waist. I don’t even waste time on taking her bra off as I inch it down a bit until I'm satisfied.

I part from her only for a moment long enough to undo the fly of my jeans, which are quickly down around my ankles. One arm holding her, I uses the other to lift up her skirt and in a second we’re joined together.

Just like any other woman she enjoys romantic nights of love making, but we have to work with however small our time frame might be... She and I have known each other for over thirty years and I mean it, we know each other. Thanks to the years of exploring and perfecting our acts, we can have quick, but absolutely mind blowing sex, which is exactly what we just shared.

We cling to each other tightly, panting, catching our breaths. I finally pull out and she winces a little. “You okay? Did I hurt you?"

“No.” She smiles. “It was pretty fabulous.”

“Aren’t we always?” I zip up my jeans and help her off the table, then hand her her shirt. “Shit, the guys we'll be here in twenty minutes. I was thinking we could take a quick shower too.” I wink and she rolls her eyes again.

“This impromptu love making session will have to keep you satisfied.”

“That was no love making, Stephanie.”

“No, you’re right.” She agrees. As if on cue, Sara let's us know she's awake. ”I'll go get her."

Stevie and I, with Sara in my arms, are sitting opposite Mick and Christine, John couldn't make it. I'm sure they don't understand a single thing at the moment and the expressions on their faces are quite comical.

"Can we get some sort of explanation?" Mick asks.

"We're married with a baby." That's all that comes out of Stevie's mouth.

"How on earth did this happen so quickly!"

"Well, it did. Who cares? Be happy." She lets him now she'll be having none of what he has to say about this situation.

"But you were seeing someone else. Your daughter..."

"Our daughter."

"Her father is out there somewhere!"

"Mick, shut up, okay? Sara's father is here, Lindsey is her father."

"You're being selfish."

"I'm being selfish? The only one selfish was her supposed father! Who didn't care for either of us, who went out every single night and fucked every woman in his sight. He has not called or come around once, Mick. So, I'm asking you to shut the hell up about this."

"I didn't know..."

"Of course you didn't!" I take Stevie's hand in mine, hoping to calm her down. She exhales deeply, I'm sure she just mentally counted to ten. "We're not here to argue."

"Yes, yes you're right. But why are we here then?"

"I've been thinking." It was her idea, so I let her speak. "Our EP did so well, people still want to hear Fleetwood Mac, I'm abslutely sure they would love to see us too."

"Are you saying you want to tour?" Christine looks surprised. "You've just given birth to this little girl, Stevie! Not that you look like it." She adds and I agree.

"Not just, Chris. And I'm sick of not doing anything, I've missed playing live. I thought I could do a smaller solo tour, but the things happening lately are so big and so important, an actual Fleetwood Mac reunion would only fit right in."

"But what about Sara?"

"Oh, she'd be coming with."

"Stevie, it doesn't look like you have seriously thought about it... Who will look after your daughter?"

"Don't you worry about that, Mick."

"What do you think, Lindsey?"

Thanks for that one, Mick... "I've been skeptical at first too, but we've talked about it and we could make it work."

"If you don't want it, we don't have to do it, but when you do, I can't be sure I will too." She's actually threatening the guy... This is way too amusing.

"You know I want nothing more than to play with you all again, I know it would be so much more fun now, but I guess I'm worried. I wouldn't want anything to happen."

"What could possibly happen?"

He's obviously thinking of what to say. "It's just that... You two get onto each other's nerves so much when we're touring, things are never pretty and now you have a beautiful little family, I know how much you've wanted this..."

"Mick..." Neither of us expected to hear this. "We're different people now. It's not all about us anymore. Sara is our number one priority and we wouldn't let anything get in the way of that."

"Are you sure about it?"

"I wouldn't have called you if I wasn't."

"Since when do you have a heart, Fleetwood?" Christine asks, who's been awfully quiet.

"I'm not always an asshole, okay?"

She pats him on the back. "Turns out!"

"So..." Stevie looks at Mick. "What are we going to do?"

"We're going to go out on the road."
