I lay in bed, a blissful smile plastered against my face. Pulling out my phone I see her number sitting there in my contacts. The only contact in there other than Mother. Turning in the sheets, I close my eyes. Everything about her came back. The way she felt in my arms, the way I never wanted to let go. How she looked so beautiful, even though she was sweaty from the hike. The way her angelic voice cured the pain building up in my heart.

I needed to make sure Mother never found out about this. I don't know why, but Mother doesn't like Y/n. Y/n. How natural it felt to say her name. Just thinking about her had my stomach in knots and my heart aflutter. Ugh, what was I doing? I saw the ring on her finger. I must have figured she would have someone by now. She was so beautiful and kind, she could have any man she wants. But at least she wanted to have me in her life. Friendship would be enough. If I told myself that, after some time I would think it true. That night, for the first time in months, I fell asleep a happy man. With a smile on my face.
