"So what are you thinking about for lunch?" I ask, slowly closing the high school yearbook.
"Maybe some take out? You seem tired and I don't want you to have to work." Jimin says and I think for a second before getting up.
"There's a place not too far that does authentic Korean food." Jimin's expression suggests he likes the idea.
"Sounds good. What kind of food do they serve?" While I list off some of the foods they serve, Jimin hums along to things he wanted. On a pad of paper next to me, my hand keeps a list of the foods we wanted. Once we had a good list down I get out my phone and dial the number. Jimin goes through the book of Korean poems while I talk to the woman on the other end of the phone. I hang up once the order was placed and look over at Jimin.
"Sweet, the food should be here in twenty minutes." Jimin nods his head, still immersed in the book.
"Okay cool. What should we do until then?" He asks, putting his book down.
"Well, we still have one more episode left of our drama. We could finish off the season." Jimin nods and reaches over and grabs the remote. He hands it over to me and I take it, our hands gently brushing against each other.
We're halfway through the episode when we hear a knock at my front door.
"I'll get it." I offer, standing up. Jimin pauses the episode while my legs walk me over to the door. I reach out and open the door.
"Thank- Jackson?" My eyes grow wide when I see my fiance outside my door holding a bag full of Korean take out.
"Hey, babe. I saw the guy coming up the stairs with your order and thought we could eat together. It's a lot of food you've ordered." He snickers, eyeing up the bag and then me.
"Well, right now isn't the best time," I mutter, glancing over at Jimin who was awkwardly sitting on the couch.
"Oh, nonsense." Jackson pushes past me into my living room. My jaw clenched, preparing for Jackson's reaction. He glances into the living room and that's when his eyes meet Jimin's. I watch terrified as every muscle in Jackson's body tenses. Jimin stays strong, not glaring back at Jackson, but still sitting up and not sinking into the couch.
"Y/n," Jackson says, his voice cold and dark. "Who. The. Hell. Is. This."
"Jackson, this is Jimin." I felt small and weak, and it didn't help when Jackson turned to look at me. My body cringed beneath his stare, slowly backing into the wall.
"Jimin? So you are cheating on me! I knew you were a lying slut!" He reaches out and grabs a handful of my hair. Yanking me hard against the wall. He slams the open door beside me and locks the handle.
"You bitch! I thought you said you weren't going to find Jimin! But yet here he is, sitting on the couch where you probably were making out before I got here!" Tears begin to stream from my eyes and I shut them tightly, trying to shut out the world.
"Jackson please your hurting me," I whisper, my words were barely audible.
"Oh yeah! Oh yeah! Your hurt! I'm fucking hurting you!" His hand connects with my cheek, leaving red stinging pain in my face. More tears begin to stream down my face. "You don't know what pain feels like." He spits in my face and I feel his arm move back up, ready to strike again. But it never does.
"How dare you hit her." I can hear Jimin growl, his voice was no longer sweet and soft. My eyes slowly open to see Jimin holding back Jackson's arm. Dangerous tension begins to grow between the two men.
"Jimin." My voice squeaks in fear, my heart pounding nervously.
"You bitch." Jackson drops his arm and glares at Jimin. "Have fun with your slut." He gives his final remarks and unlocks the door. Storming out, he slams the door behind him. I drop down to the floor, memories of the last time my body crippled from fear rushing to my mind. I curl up and begin to shake. Jimin drops down to his knees and pulls my shivering body into his arms.
"I'm here y/n. Please don't cry. Your safe now." His voice is soft again. Soothing and gentle. He begins to sing. Gently whispering a sweet song in my ear. Minutes pass and my body slowly begins to relax. I feel Jimin reach out and gently place a finger beneath my chin. He tilts my head slowly upward and inspects my cheek.
"How much does this hurt?" Jimin gingerly runs a finger on the mark. A whimper escapes my lips and Jimin sighs. He picks me up, holding me close to his chest. I feel him move us over to the kitchen and he sets me down on the counter.
"Let me get some ice." He fills a bag with some ice and wraps it in a soft towel. He reaches up and gently places it against my cheek. I hiss when the cold ice touches my burning cheek.
"I'm sorry y/n. This might hurt a little." He places the ice harder against my cheek, drawing another his from my cheek.
"I'm sorry Jimin." I choke out after a while of silence.
"What are you sorry for?" He whispers tenderly, tucking a strand of hair back behind my ear.
"Because you could have gotten hurt. And I don't want you to get hurt." I mutter shamefully.
"Are you kidding me! I'm the one who should be sorry. I should have done something sooner so that you wouldn't have gotten hurt. It's my fault, I let you down." He pulls away the ice to inspect my cheek. "You have nothing to be sorry for." Jimin smiles sadly at me and plants his lips on my forehead. Kissing me gently.
"Do you want me to call Jungkook?" He asks and I shake my head.
"No, I don't want to worry him. Today he is going to the recording studio to work on the song with Namjoon and Yoongi.
"Y/n this might be a sensitive question." His words trail off before he picks them up again. "Has he done this before?" My heart conflicts with my mind. Fighting over what to tell him.
"No, no. This is the first time he has ever done anything like that." I lie, unable to look my friend in the eye.
"Well, I still think you should tell Jungkook. He knows you better then I do." Jimin sighs and puts the ice back on my cheek. "You seem tired. You should get some rest." I nod my head, my body felt drained and exhausted. Jimin picks me up again and carries me up the stairs to my bed. He gently lays me down and pulls the sheets up to my shoulders. He turns to leave and walks down the stairs and I begin to get worried that he's going to leave me. But he comes back up a few moments later a book in his hand. He crawls onto the bed next to me and sits down, leaning against the headboard.
"Did you think I was going to leave you?" I nod slowly, a single tear falling down my cheek. Jimin reaches over and wipes it away. "I'm never going to leave you again." He opens the book and begins to read, it was the book of Korean poems. Soon enough I was falling asleep to Jimin's calming words.
