Seven-Star Girl

I walk into the small little shop named The Kindness Bar, of course that's roughly translated. The smell of coffee and tea comes out making me smile, she really did think of me. I look towards her,

"How long did it take you to find a place that had both tea and coffee?" She turns around, rolling her eyes,

"It took so long. Like who knew, French people hated tea too." I looked around, the aesthetic of the place was very calming and there was a small guitar sitting on a stage, along with a microphone.

"Is there a hostess here?" I ask ,seeing no waiting sign.

"No, it's a free for all I think and the best part is, in order to get a job here you have to be able to speak english." Ara says and drags both of us in.

"SO Rhys will have no problem fitting in." I say looking towards the small male who gasps, clutching his chest.

"Imma go get a drink wanna come Ara?" He asks and Ara replies by giving him her hand. I rarely drink, I stopped once I drank my mother's vodka in my first year of college. I walked over to the non-alcoholic section and a tall man walked up to me.

"What's your poison?"He asks while cleaning the bar.

"Can I have a Strawberry Kiwi drink s'il vous plait?" I ask, blending french and english together. He nods, turning around to fix my drink up. I see the guitar in the corner and wonder why it's there.

"Why is there a guitar and a mic up stage?" I ask, my curiosity getting the best of me.

"In five minutes we will ask if anybody wants to volunteer their friends to sing upstage." My eyes roll and my head falls out of my hands. I grab my drink,

"Is it funny when people sell out their friends?" I take a sip of the berry flavored drink. He laughs nodding,

"It's very funny, especially when we have to drag them on stage." My eyes widen, he nods and walks away, allowing me to walk over to Rhys.He acknowledges my presence with a nod and opens an arm, giving me a side hug. I'm a huge introvert, talking to people is my weakness. Suddenly the lights go dim and the same man I was talking to walks on stage.

"Time to sacrifice a friend." The duo looks at each other, their smiles turning into a smirk. Suddenly the room bursts into

"TALULAH!" I glare at them while hiding underneath Rhys. How are they so social? I swear I will personally find revenge against Mr. and Mrs. Potato Head. The man tries to locate me and slowly walks toward Rhys. Rhys detaches me from him and hands me toward the man, who pulls me toward the stage.

"Play a song." He whispers into my ear and hands me the mint green Stratocaster. My hands shake as I start to sing Landslide, my fingers plucking the A,G,D,and B string in the order, pouring my whole soul into the song. I reach the ending of the song and hear applause coming from everywhere.

"Thank you." I hang the guitar back on its pedestal, walking

down the steps, then sitting down on a table.

"That was a good performance. Talulah was it?" I look up seeing a man with bright blue hair sitting across from me, holding out his hand.

"Tommy, pleasure to meet ya." I grab his hand, shaking it shyly.

"I know who you are." I nod shyly. The duo always showed me video's of Archie's band and he was the guitarist.

"You're the guitarist aren't you?" He looks around and I hold out my pinky,

"I won't tell anybody, I'm not a fan. My BFF's are though." He connects it with his pinky smiling.

"So what do you do Talulah?" He starts to ask the generic questions.

"I'm a poet and a wannabe songwriter. Officially I'm in college though." I push up my glasses seeing his eyebrows raise,

"American?" I nod happily,

"My accent gave it away?" He nods checking his phone,

"I've gotta go. Can I get your number star girl?" He hands me his phone and I hand him mine. He leaves within five minutes as the duo stalk towards me with a questioning face.

"Rhys, Ara, stop flirting with people we need to leave."
