Forty Five-Consent is sexy

I stood there in shock. I shakily touched my lips and swallowed thickly, refusing to make eye contact with the man in front of me.

"Talulah? You good?" Archie walks towards me and I shake my head, holding my hands out. How could he walk up towards me like everything was normal? He just kissed me!

"No! I'm not okay! You have no right to just walk up to me and just kiss me!" I yell, bunching the ends of my sleeves in my fist. He tries stepping towards me, holding his hands out to tuck a piece of hair out of my face. I look at him, trying to stare him down. He stops moving towards me,

"I was trying to confess my crush to you. Isn't that what you do?" He tilts his head like a confused puppy and I raise an eyebrow, questioning if this dude had ever been asked out.

"Have you ever had a crush on anybody?" I ask, and he shakes his head,

"No, mostly everybody fell for me. Everybody except you and that's why I have a crush on you." He explains and my lips tighten into a firm line, I didn't want to be the one to break his heart. Somebody would though, I guess it would have to be me.

"Normally when a person has a crush on someone they would ask them out, not kiss them immediately." I softly say and he Ohh's in realization, not noticing how the sudden kiss hurt me.

"Will you go out with me?" He asks and I shake my head, my breathing getting faster.

"That's not how it works." I say, my heart starting to beat faster at his unexpected request.

"Will you?" He asks, stepping forward towards me.

"I- I can't. I need time." I say, turning on my heel and sprinting away, leaving Archie in the dust. My hands grasp around my phone and I shakily dial Rhys's number. He immediately picks up,

"Hello?"

"I need you to pick me up, please Rhys." I say, my voice coming out as a broken record. I hear him gasp and hear the barely audible roar of his car.

"Where are you Talulah?" He asks with a soothing voice but I could hear the tension behind it. I look up and see that I'm in the parking lot of the garden.

"I'm at the studio's garden." I whisper, chewing my nails anxiously.

"Ok." He says and I could hear the roaring of the car become louder. I slide down to the curb and put my head in my hands, trying to calm down. I hear the screeching of a car and someone steps out,

"Talulah, princess." It was Rhys, his lifts me up against him and I started to relax, smelling his warm vanilla scent. I dig my head into his shoulder,

"Rhys." He hums and sets me in the passenger seat, going over to his side as I fasten my seatbelt. We sit in silence as he takes various twists and turns, driving us to our house. He unlocks the door and I run into the hose, trying desperately to stop my tears from falling.

I run to the kitchen and frantically grab a mug and make some hot chocolate, hoping that it would help me calm down a bit more. Rhys chrome and hugs me from behind,

"What happened?" He asks, softly grabbing my wrist and sitting me down next to him on the couch.

"He kissed me." I murmur it so low that he has to lean really close to me.

"What?" Rhys asks while combing his hand through my hair. I shakily sigh,

"He kissed me." I say again, this time a bit louder. Rhys's eyes widen and he hugs me immediately, stroking my back.

"Are you okay?" He pulls back to look at my reaction and I look at him through watery eyes, shaking my head.

"Nope." I shake my head and look down at the fabric of the couch. Rhys clicks his tongue and mutters something in Korean, obviously annoyed at something.

"What did they do?" He asks, his fist grabbing the material of the couch angrily.

"Archie just suddenly kissed me, and then he asked me out, expecting me to say yes." I say, bunching my blond hair in my hands.

"He did what?" Rhys mutters, his face turning more red from the anger. I nod along,

"Yup, he kissed me. Guess he didn't hear that consent is sexy." I mutter, smiling slightly when I hear a chuckle come from Rhys. Eventually, he loses it and busts into giggles,

"Haven't heard that one before." He says, putting my hot chocolate away. I smile a bit, feeling much more calm.

"I'm so unique." I say with a british accent, fanning my face and fluttering my eyes at Rhys. He nods and looks down,

"Yes, you are." He mumbles, not expecting me to hear it. I smile even wider and walk up the stairs,

"Rhys, I'm gonna go change into something more comfortable." I say, walking up the stairs and going into my room. I flop onto my bed and push my head into the cushions,

"So tired." I mumble, rolling over and trying to get comfy. I groan as I wouldn't be able to sleep just yet. I sleepy walk over to my closet and reach for my pair of PJs. I quickly change into the set and look at the time, smiling. Rhys could afford to wait for some more time.

"Self care!" I shout and pull out a face mask and some nail polish. I put on the strawberry scented face mask and started painting my nails with a bright yellow color with Taylor Swift's folklore album playing in the background, hoping it would help lift my mood.

"Talulah! Dinner's ready!" I hear Rhys scream. I walk out of the room, stopping to dry my nails one last time. I walk downstairs and see Rhys speaking Korean with someone over the phone. When he sees me he cuts the phone,

"Tal,is it okay if I ask you for a favor?" He asks sheepishly and I nod cautiously.

"How would you feel about being my girlfriend?"
