Twenty five-Vampire Crap

I put my key into the door and turned it, opening the door and stepping into the apartment. I spot Rhys watching Ni Hao Kai-Lan on Nick Jr. I close the door behind me,

"Is this what your late-night movie nights are?" I ask, seeing him quickly turn around shutting the television quickly.

"No! I was just looking for something to watch." He says and I nod sarcastically,

"Sure Rhys. And I'll be going on a date with one of the lawyers." His eyes widen and he jumps in front of me,

"Really? Which one?" I exhale dreamily and look at him,

"The one who lives in outer space."

"Oh, you were being sarcastic."

"Yes,Rhys." I say and he pouts childishly.

"How was the meeting with Alex?" He asks and I make a sour face. It was really bad, so bad that I didn't know how to describe it to him. He observes my look and looks at me with pity in his eyes,

"It was that bad?" I nod, it sucked crap.

"On a scale from you seeing Ara being the best to you meeting Archie again." It wasn't the worst, I might have over played it. Whoops.

"Dumbledore dying." I reply and his shoulders relax from their tensed position. He nods, maintaining a straight face,

"Ok, so I wasn't that bad. Did he do it?" I bite my lips and nod,

"He did it." Rhys gasps looking towards me with his eyes raised. He mouthed 'wow' and sunk back into the couch.

"I know right, I wasn't expecting him to go that far." I voice my thoughts as I sit next to Rhys.

"So he did..." He asks and shake my head,

"No, he just made unwanted advances on employees." I internally facepalm, I was defending him when he did something that was not okay.

"That's not okay." I add quickly, not wanting Rhys to believe that I supported him.

"I agree, so when's the hearing set?" He asks, causing me to shrug. My memories rewind to the last time I had met Romeo and Ty for the deposition.

"I don't know. They haven't given me any information at all." I say, just as my phone dings.

From:Ty

The trial is tomorrow

To:Ty

What the heck?

You gave me zero time.

From:Ty

I gave you twelve hours, thank you very

much.

To:Ty

Twelve hours?!

That means the trial is at 8am

What the heck?

I'm not some vampire?

From:Ty

*clears throat*

I, Ty the lawyer.

Now clear Talulah Simmons as a vampire.

There. Now you're a vamp.

To:Ty

Thank you so much.

I will now go drink some blood.

From:Ty

See you tomorrow

Rhys peeks over my phone,

"Ooh. Mr.Hotness has texted you. What's he asking you? Where to- OW!" He gets interrupted by me swatting him aggressively.

"He's telling me the trial date Rhys. Nothing more, nothing less." Rhys looks at me, whining,

"You're no fun Tal."

"I know." I say before yawning. All this drama really tired me out and I want to sleep.

"I'm gonna go." I say, pointing up where theoretically my room should be. Rhys looks at me funny,

" To Narnia!" He says, pointing his hands up like he's leading an army. I snicker and play along with his facade,

"I'll tell the Snow Queen that you said hi." I whisper before walking upstairs.

I change into a random pair of shorts and a shirt, not bothering to wash my face before falling into my cushy bed, instantly falling asleep.

"It's such a Wonderful thing to love! It's su-" I groan, pressing the snooze button on my alarm as I roll over in bed. Today's the day of the trial. According to Ty ,this trial should only last one day since the defence has no evidence.

I shake my head and walk to the bathroom, doing my routine. When I finish I walk over to my closet. What does one wear to a trial? Is there a dress code? Do I have to wear a wig like they do on TV. There's only one person who knows how to solve this problem, Rhys.

"Rhys!" I called, leaning against my bed frame. Rhys comes running up the stairs and into my room.

"What can I help you with?" He asks and I gesture to my messy closet,

"What does one wear to court?" I ask and he makes a frazzled face.

"I don't know? Definitely something you would wear to work."

"So like, jeans and a top."

"Something a lot fancier." I whine at the thought of not being in something comfortable. Rhys looks at me with a look,

"I have an idea!" He says, pulling out a floral skirt with a turtleneck. I tilt my neck,

"You want me to look like the fall goddess. Ok." I say, nodding.

"That's the point. You'll look so innocent that the jury will have to take pity on you." I pick up the outfit,

"I don't think that's how it works." I say closing the door behind me. I change into the skirt and the sweater, making sure to tuck it in. I swipe a bit of gold eyeshadow in my corners and walk out. I hear Rhys gasp,

"Oh. My. God. You look ravishing." I smile and do a tiny twirl, stopping to look at the clock.

It was 7 o'clock and I needed to get to the courthouse thirty minutes early.

I ran downstairs and grabbed my trusty pair of yellow converses, sliding them on.

"Tal, you need to do your hair." He exclaims and I pull back, looking at myself in the mirror. As much as I hated to admit it, my hair was a mess.

I grabbed a spare orange ribbon and used it as a headband, making sure that it wouldn't break in court.

"What do you think?" I asked Rhys. He nodded and I walked out the door before playing with my necklace,

"Wish me luck."
