Thirty one-50 shades of pink
"Really?" Charlotte squeals and I nod in response, they're my best friends, I owe them this.
"How long would I be doing this for?" I asked, sighing quietly. They all go silent, looking at each other through the screen. Rhys stops rubbing my back and looks at the screen,
"You guys don't know." He says and the others nod in shame. Louie sighs and moves his device,
"Archie only told management and Araluen about the plan. He left us out after he saw how tired we were."
"So, am I gonna have to live there?" I asked. DC is my home and I didn't particularly feel okay with leaving it to live in London.
"I think that Araluen will tell you everything." Tommy says and ends the call. Charlotte and Louie end the call shortly after, leaving me and Rhys sitting in silence.
"Are you ready to move to London?" He asks, suddenly breaking the silence.
"If it comes to it then I'll move all my things to my mom's and rent an apartment in London." I sighed out playing with my fingers. Suddenly, a thought comes to me, what's going to happen with Rhys once I move?
"What's going to happen if I have to move to London?" I ask him, stopping my movement with my hands. I look at him with watery eyes,
"Are you going to come with me?" He sighs and takes his hands in mine and kisses them gently,
"Always." I look at him and whisper,
"Thank you."
His eyes gravitate to mine and he gives me a slight forehead kiss and I melt into his touch.
"Ding." The doorbell rings and I open the door to find an excited Ara at the door. She runs toward me and envelops me in an hug,
"Thank you so much!" Her hands circle around my waist as I awkwardly stand near her. I grimace and put my arms around her shoulder. I look towards Rhys mouthing,
"Help me." He shakes his head and chuckles into his sleeve as I glare at him. Ara pulls away and sits down, pulling out her computer and going to a booking site.
"We're gonna book the flight right now." She mutters, cracking her neck. I crane my neck at her,
"What do you mean, flight? Rhys is coming with me." I declare wiping my sweaty hands on my skirt. Ara looks at me, hesitation present in her eyes,
"I don't think that he could come." She says and my eyes widen,
"What? No, if he's not coming, then I'm not coming. That's the deal." I storm to the kitchen and make myself a cup of hot chocolate.
"What is he going to do in London Tal?" She asks softly, trying not to upset me. Rhys notices my state and takes charge of the conversation,
"I can head the London branch of my workplace, I got the offer."
"Umm, ok. I guess that I'll get two tickets to LHR, leaving in two days."
"Will I have to live there?" I blurt out getting a guilty look from Ara. She flips through a big packet of papers and slides one of them to me.
What's this?" I ask, looking through the document. It was talking about how long I would have to stay as Archie's songwriter. I pass it to Rhys who looks at it, flabbergasted,
"This says that we have to stay in London for 2 months." I nod, that's a decent time frame. We could rent a place for the amount of time that we were staying in London.
"It also says that she can't take credit for anything except the songwriting." He reads out, his voice's tone turning darker by the minute.
"What?" I sputter out, grabbing the papers and finding the section that he was talking about. He was right, I couldn't take credit if I came up with anything other than the lyrics.
I look at Rhys who was texting someone with a quizzical expression.
"What happened?" I whisper, nudging him with my shoulder.
"I got the job." He answers flatly, making my eyebrows raise. Why would he be dubious about getting to be the head of the London branch,
"Then why does it look like someone made a Uranus joke in front of you?" He pouts childishly flops his whole body on top of me,
"If I go to work at the London branch then I'll have to also help manage the South Korean branch." He groans out and puts his face fully in the couch cushions. I chuckle and stroke his hair while Ara packs up,
"The tickets will be sent to you through email. Thanks for taking the offer even though you don't like me." She says, leaving the house.
She walks out and closes the creaky door behind her, the sound of her heels echoing in my mind. I internally groan, thanking the green earth that she is gone.
"Well that's over." I cheer, going to stretch my arms. I hear cracking noises from my arms from not being used for a long time.
"Shall we throw a party?" He asks, bringing out the Vodka. I hold my hands out in front of me ,waving them wildly,
"Do you remember what happened last time I got drunk?" I asked, seeing Rhys put the bottle on the table. He nods with his eyes widened,
"Ya, you painted my hair with nail polish." I giggle, remembering when we woke up to find Rhys's hair fifty shades of pink.
"You got all the girls though." I reply, remembering all the looks that Rhys got about his hair.
"I need to tell my boss about my situation." I murmur, rubbing my temples. I've loved every minute that I've worked at the firm and Axel is like a brother to me.
"How are you going to do it?" Rhys asks, pouring himself a shot. I could smell the strong scent of whiskey as I run my hands through my wild hair, wincing when it gets caught in a knot,
"I'm gonna tell him, fair and square."
