Thirteen-Darling

We walk down to the O2 to see a very short cue. The show was 30 minutes and the cue wasn't long? Was this a prank? I shook my head and sat in the line.

"Do you know why the venue isn't very long?" I asked Ara, who was playing on her phone.

"Most of his fans are based in the US and Asia." I nod along, that makes sense, his music is absolute trash. I look towards Rhys who is looking at his phone and frowning,

"What happened?" I ask, seeing him plaster on a fake smile. He shakes his head,

"It's nothing. I'm good." I stared at him, he was hiding something, I would find out what he was hiding.

"So which song are you looking forward to listening to live the most?"Ara asks as she responds to her own question,

"I like Reds and Oranges." Half of the line nods along and Rhys shakes his head saying,

"No, the best one is New Flower." The other half of the line nods along with that. I furrow my brows,

"Is this dude a hippie? His song's titles might be the best thing out of his whole album." All of his fans gasped at me and Rhys chuckled nervously and pulled me closer to him.

"She likes rock only." I look up at him,

"I like pop too but his music just sucks in general." Rhys groans, pulling me aside,

"You have the social cues of a monkey. I'm trying to save you from being beat up by Archie fans.Okay?" He asks, wording it like I'm a baby.

"I can handle myself against people who obsess over a man who comes up with the worst lyrics ever." I say going back into the spot that Ara held for me. Suddenly the line started to move forward. Ara screams,

"I'm gonna meet the man of my dreams!"

"And hopefully scare him off until he goes running off for the hills." I add lowly, hoping that nobody would hear. She quickly swats me before moving ahead,

"I heard that." It was my turn to walk into the pit. The arena was humongous and had enough space to fit plenty of people in the pit only. The stage was painted black and gave off a fake country vibe. Rhys and I got the spot in the middle, against the metal bar. I could feel the bar against my lower ribs against my dress. In twenty minutes the whole arena was filled and I was pushed against the bar.

The arena went black and screams filled my ears. Two sharp strums blared through the speakers and even more screaming played through the stadium. Tommy walked out with the same Strat that I played at the store, hung around his neck and Archie came out shortly after. The rest of the band was already stationed at their positions so the playing started.

Thirty minutes into the concert, right after he played Reds and Oranges, he asked a question.

"How would one of you like to play the guitar and the drums up here!" Oh, shiitake mushrooms. I heard screams, all around coming from everybody. Not just people in the pit.

"Okay put your hands up if you want to play the guitar." A bunch of hands went up and he picked a scrawny looking girl who couldn't look like she could hold a three pound weight, let alone a guitar. Tommy put the strap over her shoulder and she randomly strummed some chords. I don't think she knew what she was playing but Tommy was extremely supportive, holding the guitar to her height and teaching her how to hold a pick. Archie rudely stopped her and gave her a hug before Tommy showed her off stage.

"Now who wants to play the drums?" A new chorus of "Me" and "Please me Archie" erupted from the crowd. His eyes scan the crowd and Rhys and Ara are screaming "Talulah!" At the top of their lungs which catches the man's attention. At this point I've learned to just give up. He smiled mischievously,

"I hear a Talulah so lets have Talulah on stage!" He yells as a man pulls me through the crowd. I end up on stage next to Tommy.

"How ya doin darling?" He asks and I stare at him,

"What do you think?" He chuckles and motions to the drum set,

"It's all yours." I chuckle nervously and sit on the throne and spin

the drumsticks a couple of times. The drummer looks at me and I sit there, spinning my drumsticks. I know how to play the drums but I have to find a song that can be played by drums alone. My foot taps the kick as I start to play Enter Sandman. The crowd goes crazy and so does the drummer. I play two minutes of Enter Sandman before I stop. The drummer hugs me and gives me a signed drumstick,

"You're a cool gal, I hope I'll get to meet you later." I nod and go to hug Tommy before walking off stage,

"You did good Stargirl."

"Nice guitar." I say and he gives me a quick peck on the cheek. I beam and go back into the pit where I get swarmed with fans asking to take my drumstick.
