Twenty One-Makeover and New Songs

"Cause it's a thriller, thriller night-" I hit the snooze button on my alarm clock. I woke up two hours earlier than normal since Rhys wants to do a makeover on me.

"Stupid makeover," I grumble, walking to my bathroom and brushing my teeth. I prefer sleep over anything, but since it's for my best friend I'll stand it. I don't bother changing my clothes since I'm gonna be told to change by Rhys anyways.

"Talulah, get your bottom down here. We have so much to do." Rhys screams from downstairs. I groan but make my way downstairs and see Rhys with a full setup of hair tools and my breakfast ready. He motions for me to sit down,

"I'll be doing everything except your makeup because let's face it, you do better makeup than me." I nod, grabbing the fruit salad that he had made.

Suddenly, Material Girl floods through the speakers and I cringe,

"Madonna? Really Rhys?" Rhys nods at me,

"We stan a queen." I nod meekly knowing that I can't argue with Rhys. He takes my hand and opens a bottle of white nail polish, applying it on my dry cracked nails. While he was putting on my face mask I asked,

"Do you know what's going on with Archie?" His application stops suddenly as he hesitates,

"I don't know, but it sounds like he's in hot water."

"How do you think Ara's doing?" I hear Rhys sigh and he delicately wipes my face,

"I don't know. Why would you care about her? She was a backstabbing butt."

"Everybody deserves some love once in a while. I'm not forgiving her, I'm just hoping that she's okay." I say, laying on the couch and going through Rhys's iPod, looking for songs.

I choose to play his foreign songs playlist. He chuckles lightly as I try to pronounce the beautiful language that is Korean. All of sudden, I start to hear French music coming out of the speakers. I look at him with an eyebrow raised,

"Is this how you learnt French?" I ask, seeing him nod shyly. Suddenly I noticed something, this is my voice! When did I sing something in French? The only time I sang was at his parent's anniversary- ok that makes sense. I run towards him screaming,

"Rhys, you butt! You recorded my singing at your parent's anniversary." I cringe hearing my voice flow through the apartment. He looks at me, a slight smile at my dismay.

"Dress shopping time!" He says, pulling me upstairs and opening my closet. He gasps and pulls out a light blue dress with golden stars on the fabric.

"This is the dress!" He says, while straightening out the dress. I shake my head,

"I'll look like Wendy Darling from Peter Pan!" I exclaim, throwing my hands up in the air. He rolls his eyes,

"That's the point. Most dudes have a thing for that." He says as I cover my face,

"Ewwwww, that's disgusting."I uncover my face, staring at him,

"I told you that your eyes aren't virgin." He nods and motions for me to change. I drag the dress into the bathroom and change, grunting when I feel a piece of hair get stuck in the zipper. I walk out and hear Rhys squeal,

"Oh my gosh! You look so cute in this dress, I totally made the right choice." I roll my eyes and sit down on the bed. I hear Rhys scrimmiging around in my dresser for my jewelry.

He pulls out a pair of star earrings and a matching gold choker. I put my hands out but he smacks them lightly,

"Let me do it." I pout but nod, feeling him clasp the jewelry over my neck. I walk over to my vanity and start my makeup. I put some gold eyeshadow in the corner of my eye and swipe on some mascara, then I'm done.

"I'm done." I scream, seeing Rhys walk in with a ribbon and tie my hair.

"Screw Wendy Darling, you look hot Tal!" He screams and pulls me downstairs. He throws me a pair of black ballet flats and I slip them on. I grab my purse and walk out the door before screaming,

"Thanks Rhys." I walk down the stairs and see Axel sitting in the car, waiting for me. He steps out of the car and his mouth drops open.

"Told ya you'd drool." His jaw snaps shut and I get in the passenger seat. I put the seatbelt across my body and ask,

"Where are we going?" His eyebrows furrowed as he dodged left and right before answering,

"The sponsor's firm." He turns on the radio and gently hums to what's on the radio. Suddenly the radio dj announces something,

"We've been told that Archie has just released a song called Retro Girl. The song is apparently about a person he met on tour. Please enjoy this limited edition screening of Retro Girl."

My hands fly towards the knob and I turn it up. Axel looks at me quizzically but lets it stay on the station. As Archie's heavily edited voice drifts through the car certain words and phrases start to jump out.

The girl was a drummer, could play the guitar, and was best friends with his band. That was me. How was he in hot water then? I would need to find out from Charlotte and the others as soon as possible.

The car stops in front of a huge law firm. Wait.. a law firm? Are the sponsors secretly writers or something? I look toward Axle and clear my throat,

"You never told me that the sponsors are lawyers." I say pursing my lips. Axel smiles sheepishly,

"Our sponsors are lawyers?" I stare at him, making sure to glare daggers at him.

"Thank you SO much." I say, sarcasm dripping off my tongue. I step out of the car and look at the big building in front of me. It towers over all the other buildings and reflects sunlight.

"I always hated law." I mutter walking into the building and instantly feeling out of place. I walk to the desk and say,

"I'm here to meet with Mr.Valentin and Mr.Pearson." I say and she looks at me skeptically, calling it in to make sure.

"What's your name?" She asks.

"Talulah. Talulah Simmons." I say and she nods, gesturing towards the elevator,

"60th floor."

"Thank you." I mutter sofly walking towards the elevator, my hands shaking lightly.

I was screwed and I know it.
