Forty-Nine-Girl worth fighting for

"Attention all passengers, we will be reaching Incheon International airport in 15 minutes. Please make sure that you're seated and your seatbelt is buckled. Thank you for flying Korea Air." The intercom switches off as I start to crack open my eyes.

"You're awake," Rhys says, his voice coming out scratchy from the multiple hours of sleep.

"I'm awake," I confirm, leaning over to put my hand under the seat in front of us, trying to find my Toms. We had been sitting in the economy section of the plane, which I didn't mind since I had short legs. Rhys on the other hand was tossing and turning at the small amount of leg space we were given.

"Ow!" Rhys mumbles, rubbing the top of his head softly as his head crashes with the light for the fifth time. I chuckle slightly at his reaction.

The plane finally touches down after fifteen minutes and as soon as the lights turn on, Rhys and I pop out of our seats. I walk out of the cramped space and sigh at how tall the overhead compartment was.

"Crap," I mutter, standing on my tippy toes and feeling around the compartment blindly for my bag. My hands finally grasped around a rough handle and I yanked it down, exhaling in relief when I saw the familiar mustard yellow color.

I take the backpack and put it on my back, fidgeting with the straps.

"Lulah, over here!" Rhys whispers, catching my attention. I nod and cut in front of him, getting in the long line. Rhys winces slightly as he shakes his leg out, trying to awaken his leg. I chuckle slightly and he stares down at me,

"What are you laughing about?" He asks, keeping his hand on the small of my back, looking at the now moving line. I cover my mouth with my sleeve and shake my head,

"Nothing." I giggle out and he raises his brows,

"Really? Nothing?" As he talks to me, he slightly nudges me forward. I start to walk out of the aircraft, stopping only to wave goodbye to the smiling air hostesses.

"Your fault for being a giraffe," I muttered, starting to go through my bag for my passport since I saw the immigration sign. Rhys laughs under his breath,

"If you think that I'm a giraffe, wait till you see my best friend." He says, pulling out his passport from his backpack as well.

My mouth drops, I would have to deal with two giraffes? Rhys pats my shoulder and nudges me forward,

"It's your turn Lulah." He says with a smile on his face. I swallow and twiddle with my thumbs,

"Thanks, Rhys," I mutter, hurrying forward and getting the immigration process over with.

"We finished!" I exclaim, walking out of the immigration part of the Incheon airport. It had taken us a longer time than the average person because our luggage had gotten mixed up with someone else's.

"We could have avoided this if you would have put a label on your bag." Rhys fires back, both of us walking to the luggage claim.

"I forgot! It's not my fault that I was distracted." I fire back, pulling my luggage off the belt with a grunt.

"Distracted? How did I distract you?" He asks, pulling his bag off the conveyor belt as well, pulling the lever up to make it easier to roll. I do the same thing with my luggage and drag it along with me, following behind Rhys since I didn't want to get lost.

"You were watching Mulan! You know how I like Po the best!" I yell, running to catch up to him. His long legs were making catching up to him impossible.

"Sure." He grumbles and we finally step out of the airport. A gust of fresh air hits me and I relax, letting the wind whip my hair around me gently.

"Pretty right?" Rhys asks, leaning in close to me. I looked at the landscape in wonder, it was mind-blowing.

"Ya," I say breathless from the awe of the city. Rhys snaps me out of my trance when he taps me on my shoulders lightly,

"We need to start walking again. My friend has been texting me nonstop." He briefly shows me his phone and I'm able to see multiple messages from one person.

"Ok." I nod, going back to my position of following him through the crowd of never stopping people. I keep my head down, mumbling various sorry and excuse me's when I bumped into someone.

Suddenly, I run into the back of Rhys's jacket, the feeling of crashing taking me by surprise,

"Eek!" I squeal lightly, my fists curling around the material of his army green jacket.

"Who is this Rhys?" A new accented voice talks to Rhys and I peer out from behind his shoulder. I meet the stranger's dark brown eyes and immediately look down. Rhys laughs softly and brings me out from behind him as I dig my heels into the ground,

"This is Talulah, She's my girlfriend," Rhys says, the lie slipping out like butter. I don't look up at him since I didn't want my face to give the lie away.

"It's nice to meet you Talulah." The man sticks his hand out for me to shake and I take a deep breath in, grabbing his humongous hand and shaking it lightly,

"You can call me Tal or Lulah," I say, looking up to meet his eyes once again, this time smiling widely. When I look up I see a very tall man standing in front of me. His features looked very sharp and his eyes were really breathtaking.

Those brown eyes were covered with a pair of vintage circular frames. He was wearing an outfit that looks aesthetic, even though that wasn't the look he was going for. His eyes focus on Rhys's cross necklace that was sitting perfectly on my neck.

"Oi! Kai." Rhys pulls the stranger, Kai's eyes away from my necklace and towards him instead. I internally praise Rhys for pulling the spotlight off of me.

"You really do like her." He says, nodding up and down seriously. Rhys wordlessly nods, caught in a wave of thought and Kai wiggles his brows,

"Have you guys made it to third base yet?"
