Thirty Six-EWW! Whiskey

I step out of the shadows and walk up to the group of men. They seem to not hear me so I repeat my question, my voice deathly calm,

"What?" The boys suddenly pivot towards me, their eyes showing fear.

"None of your business," Matteo says, his eyes showing fearlessness but his body tells me something different. His hands are shaking and he keeps on raking his hands through his hair, which is a nervous habit that he has. My heart screams at me to shake it off my but my brain wills for me to step forward,

"No, no, you have enough audacity to speak behind my back. Now try to do the same thing to my face." I say, my finger pushing his body back into the wall, my short stature long forgotten. Matteo puffs his chest out and pushes me back harshly. I got a sudden bout of deja vu but kept my wits with me.

"I said that I think that you are a gold digger and that you are lying about your ability to write." He spits the words out like flaming poison, each drop trying to burn my skin. I bite my teeth and let his words sink in, banking them in the back of my mind. Instead of turning away as I usually would do, I face the problem head on and shove Matteo back into the wall. He stumbles, not anticipating the fact that I would fight back,

"I don't need your approval but I'm feeling nice today so listen up. I can write and If I was a gold digger I wouldn't be tucking your brother in." I say, releasing his booze scented shirt. I scrunch my face up and wipe my palms on my denim skirt. His face slowly turns red,

"A gold digger would always stay with a person, even though they hate them." He walks away and I lean back, waiting for the right time to fire my thoughts.

"I choose to fight with kindness, unlike you." He stops in his tracks as I walk out of the studio with Rhys and Tommy on my heels.

"Stargirl!"

"Princess." Both of them call me by different terms of affection as I rush out of the building. I rushed toward the car and yank at the door, praying that it was open so I could cry in peace. Sadly because nothing goes to plan the car doesn't open leaving me with tears falling in a British Parking lot.

Rhys encases me in his warm body and a silently sob, his body keeping from sliding down the side of the car.

"Shhh princess." He whispers, kissing my temple softly. His ringed finger comb through my hair as I hear footsteps come near me. My face goes into his chest as I willed myself to stop crying so all that comes out is sniffles.

I pull myself out of Rhys's heavenly smelling chest to find both Rhys and Tommy had formed a wall around me, protecting me from Matteo. I fist my sweater, my palms starting to sweat again. I swallow thickly as Rhys walks over to Matteo, his figure towering over Matteo's.

"What do you want?" He asks, walking around him. Matteo shrugs, taking a flask out and starts drinking from it. I grimace at the fact that he's drinking when his brother just had an episode from the exact thing that he was drinking.

"I want to see the gold digger." My nails by now were digging hard enough to draw blood. I could feel the liquid falling down my palm, the crimson dyeing my denim skirt. I nudged Tommy out of the way, giving him a reassuring nod, I was going to put Matteo down today.

"The gold digger? Are you sure about that? Because I'm sure that if I'm one then you are one too." Matteo looks at me as Rhys's hand snakes down my body, tracing my curves and grabbing my hand, intertwining them together.

"What?" His voice comes out muffled due to him drinking from the flask. My hands pull the flask from his grip as I stick it under my nose, trying to smell the alcohol. I turn my nose up at the putrid taste of whiskey,

"Eww, Whiskey." I say, throwing the flask down onto the concrete. I smile seeing Matteo start to protest,

"I need you to be sober when you listen to this." My non bloody hand squeezes Rhys hand to get support. I lean in towards him,

"I know that you can't play the bass." I whisper in his ear, giving him a smirk when he turns pale.

"Now let's try this again, am I a gold digger?" He shakes his head furiously and I look back at Rhys and Tommy whose jaws have dropped open.

"How'd I do?" I ask and they both nod, wowed by how fast I could change moods.

Rhys smiles and opens the door for me,chuckling slowly. We both get in the backseat of the car and Tommy sits in the front. I sigh and rub my eyes, wanting nothing more than to go to sleep. Soft music starts to come through the speaker and my head falls on Rhys's shoulder. His hands brush though my hair and my eyes close wearily.

"Stargirl, wake up." I wake up to find Tommy shaking me awake. I groan but get up anyways, making sure that my feet make contact with the ground. I groan when I stumble and Tommy has to quickly stable me.

"What do you think?" He asks softly and my eyes finally open fully. I look at the house in awe, I know that I looked at it through a picture but that could never match it up to the house in real life. It looked like it had three floors and it had a very spacious porch. I look at him with a smile on my face,

"I love it."
