Fourteen-She promised.
"I can't believe that you got a signed drumstick!" Ara rushes out examining it. The concert just ended and we were walking to the meet and greet section. I roll my eyes and hand the drumstick to Rhys,
"Here. You can keep it. I have no use for it." I say and his eyes widen, screaming as he hugs me.
"Thank you so much!" He says tucking a stray hair behind my ear. I sigh feeling the cool metal of the ring on my overheated ear.
"You're welcome." I say, knocking on the door of the meet and greet. I turn towards both of them, especially Ara and say,
"Guys, don't fangirl too much okay?" Both of them nod and the drummer opens the door.
"Hey darling." Both Rhys and Ara look at me mouthing 'darling?' with a flabbergasted expression. I nod, telling them to roll with it.
"Are these your friends?" He asks and I nod.
"Okay, they're gonna have to be in another room." He says while pointing to the room across from the one he was in. I shake my head,
"He promised me that they would get to meet Archie." I say, standing my ground firmly. The dude rolls his eyes before saying,
"They'll get to meet Archie, it's just that the rest of the band doesn't want to be overwhelmed." I nod and look at the duo,
"Are yall okay with that?" I ask, seeing them nod furiously. My friends were only obsessed with meeting the visual, not the people who make his voice special. I would need to talk to them about that.
The drummer leads them to the room as I sit outside, leaning on the doorframe. A couple minutes later he comes out and gently pulls me in. My fingers hold onto my backpack straps for dear life. I look around shyly, letting my frizzy braids cover my eyesight.
"We don't bite darling." Tommy says, pulling me softly into the couch.
"Can you introduce yourself stargirl?" He asks, motioning to the crowd which was Archie's full band. I look up and shyly wave to them,
"I'm Talulah Simmons. I'm 23 years old and from the US. I'm an english major in college and aspire to be a songwriter or an author." As I finish I feel a tugging at my hair. I look up to find the keys player tugging at my loose hair. I look at her with an eyebrow raised softly,
"What are you doing?" I ask, not wanting to sound rude. She looks at me apologetically,
"I'm sorry. I have a slight case of OCD." She explains and I nod. I didn't want her to feel uncomfortable so I took my hair ties off and undid my hair. I handed her the hair ties and smiled,
"You can fix my hair, Um?" I pause, waiting for her name. She smiles,
"Charlotte." Charlotte had brown hair that was a fiery red at the roots. Her face was a delicate heart shape and she had lots of piercings on her ears. She steps behind the couch that I was on and starts to gather all my hair slowly braiding it. While she was braiding my hair, I looked towards the drummer,
"What's your name?" I ask, since it was only fair that he knew my name.
"Louie" His voice has a slight French tinge to it which I couldn't hear because of the noise at the concert.
"Tu parles Francais?" I ask, tilting my head slightly causing Charlotte to tsk and move my head back into my original side. He smiles and nods, moving towards the mini bar and asking,
"Est-ce que tu veux un verre de soda?" I shake my head,
"Non.Où êtes-vous né?" I ask, wanting to know where he was from. He looks at me, approving my pronunciation and says,
"Versailles."
"Can yall stop trash talking me elegantly in French?" Tommy says guiding me towards the last member of the band, the bassist. He gives me a slight wave and goes back to surfing the net on his phone.
"That's Matteo. He's Archie's step-brother." I furrow my brows, step-brother? Ara knows everything about this man, and she's never said anything about him having a step brother.
The door opens and Archie, clad in sweats, walks in. His cheek has a pink lip stain, the same pink that Ara was wearing. I rolled my eyes, I told her to not fangirl too hard. Archie spots me staring and bites his lip. I make a frowny face,
"Why the hell do you look constipated?" I ask, hearing the band burst into laughter. His face turns bright red and I want to laugh looking at his face, it was like a cartoon. He shakes his head and the blush disappears,
"You know for a virgin, your friend does kiss well." When he finished the sentence Tommy had his hands over me, trying to keep me in place. Charlotte finishes the hair and gently pulls Tommy's hands off me, lightly pressing her lips to my ear,
"He needs an attitude check. Go get him girl." She pats my back as I get up. I roll up my white sleeves, ready to slap the hell out of him.
"What the hell is wrong with you? Do you have any idea how to talk to women? Every time you see me something offensive flies out of your mouth." I push against him, shoving him into a wall. His expression changes into one that was undesirable. He shoves me, sending me into Tommy's hold,
"What about you huh? I bet no boy would date you since you are so ugly. You hide behind a fake facade by being so good at playing instruments but in reality you will never be enough. That's why your fiance left you right?" My face falls and sandpaper starts rubbing against my throat. Nobody knew about that except for Ara, she promised me though.
"She promised, she promised." I mutter pulling at my hair. His face forms into a smirk,
"Ara right? She told me and gave me every answer to every question that I asked her." I shakely sigh and walk out the door hugging my backpack. I knock at the door and clear the tears sitting in my throat. I smile,
"Lets go guys." They nod and we walk out of the arena and walk back to the hut.
