Nineteen-Dora's love life
I look at my phone's lock screen, seeing the picture of me in Chinatown with the band, and look at the time. It was 11:30 am, meaning that we had thirty minutes until Axel would be meeting the sponsors.
I push myself out of my desk and walk into Axel's office. I walked in and saw that Axel was talking to a client on the phone so I sat on the couch patiently waiting to talk to him.
He put the phone down so I took it as my sign to start talking,
"So, what happened with Casey?" He jumps in his seat and pivots it around to face me,
"You need to start learning to announce yourself Talulah." He says with humor in his voice.
"I will Axel. So what happened with Casey? Spill the tea?" I say, leaning forward wanting to catch the gossip. He groans at the mention of Casey,
"Casey was set up with me by my father." He says softly as I chuckle,
"How nice. You now live with a human dating app for rich people. So, did you canoodle?" I ask.
"What the hell is a canoodle?" He murmurs, opening his computer. I quirk an eyebrow and strain my neck, trying to look at his screen. In his search bar it says, 'what is a canoodle?'
"Oh, my god. You've never heard of canoodles before?" I say, facepalming as a slight blush paints on his face.
"No? Was I supposed to? It wasn't on my Harvard word list." He says while maintaining a straight face. I stare back at him before we start to break into giggles.
"Why did I come here again?" I say while clutching my stomach in pain from giggling so much.
"To ask me about my love life?" He asks, now composed and drinking the coffee that I brought.
"No your love life is as non-existent as Dora's." I say, shaking my head. Why did I come here? Oh! I came to tell him that he had fifteen minutes till the sponsors came.
"You have fifteen minutes till the sponsors come." I say, patting my back for remembering. Axel's eyes widen and he runs around his office like a headless chicken.
"I'm screwed. I don't have the figures for this year prepared." He stresses as I roll my eyes and throw him the file that I created for this purpose.
"Oh. You had it the whole time. Okay. I totally did not just freak out about this." He gives himself a rather encouraging pep talk as I walk out of the office, sitting down in my chair. I don't put my headphones on since the sponsors will come and I don't want to radiate no manners.
"Excuse me?" A manly voice says, pulling me out of my trance. I look up to see two very attractive men at my desk. Both of them were in suits and were very tall. One of them had deep brown and the other had ocean blue eyes.
"Yes. How can I help you?" I ask, straining my neck since they were so tall. Both of them radiated dominance, which caused me to fidget with the ring on my necklace.
"We're Axel's 12 o'clock." The one with the brown eyes says as I scroll through his calendar.
"Are y'all Mr.Valentin and Mr.Pearson?" I asked, peering at them through my blue light glasses. They look at me, nodding and I smile getting off my chair and guiding them to Axel's office.
"Follow me." I say, not noticing their stares at my figure. I open the door and they walk in. I turn my back when I hear,
"Talulah, stay please?" I turn around and walk into the office, observing the sitting choices in the office. I could sit in between the clients or sit next to Axel. I nodded and sat next to Axel and grabbed my notebook, ready to take notes.
"Thank you for choosing Mcgregor publishing." Axel says as he shakes the men's hands.
"No, thank you." Mr. Valentin says, before waving goodbye to me. I look up at the clock and see that it's time for lunch,
"Axel, I've gotta go eat my lunch now." I say, walking to grab my lunchbox. Once I get my hands on my delicious lunch, I walk down to the patio area and sit down on the table.
"Tal!" I hear Rhys calling my name so I put my hand up, waving it wildly. He waves back and sits down across from me. I open my lunch box, taking out my salad and instantly stabbing the lettuce with my fork.
"How was work?" I asked, trying to start conversion.
"Good. How about you?"
"Good. Do you know what's happening with Archie and his songs. Apparently he's not going to write any more songs." I ask, looking at the group chat that we had with Tommy, Charlotte and Louie.
"Really? Louie said nothing about it on the group chat." He scrolls though his phone, trying to find out more about the situation.
"I know right? I was planning to ask when we have the group facetime." I say, finishing my salad up.
"On that topic.." Rhys says, with a guilty expression on his face.
"Oh no. What happened? Based on your face someone said that the moon was made of cheese again. Where are they? Do I need to beat them up for being stupid?" I ask, getting up, ready to fight but then Rhys pushes me down.
"No it's not that. Araluen contacted me again." His eyes look at my reaction.
"Oh." I was wordless, why did she contact him? My mind was running circles around that one tiny fact.
"What did she say?" I asked with a sigh. Rhys looks down on the floor,
"She asked me to give her access to your poetry account." My account had precautions to prevent known plagerizers from going on to my account. In order for someone who was on that list to be allowed access to my account they would have to be permitted to join by me.
"Why would she ask that?" I say, scrolling through my account to make sure that nobody who I didn't want would be there.
"I don't know? Maybe we can ask the gang." Archie recommends as I nod along, liking that plan. I would need to figure out why she would want to access my account.
