I'm done.

Twenty four-I'm done.

I woke up as the bright Washington birds started chirping outside my window. I had one goal today, to talk to Alex and figure out what the hell is going on with him.

Today my day was entirely focused on Alex, not work and definitely not the case. I walked downstairs, unaffected by my attire which was a big sweater with knee-high socks. When I get down the stairs I overhear Rhys speaking his native language with a hint of anger in his voice.

He sees me and sets the phone down, looking over my attire. He raises an eyebrow,

"I thought that you were planning to see Alex today?" He asks while packing his lunch. I shrug,

"I wanted to eat breakfast before I got ready." I say, opening the fridge and grabbing some fruit to satisfy my hunger. I push my body onto the counter and sit there, eating my watermelon.

I want to ask Rhys about the whole call that he had before I came downstairs but I don't. Rhys looks at his watch and grabs his work necessities,

"I have to go Tal. Good luck with Alex and make sure to lock the door after you leave." He reminds me and I nod, waving goodbye,

"Bye Rhys, have a good day at work." He waves back at me and closes the door. I hear the audible click, meaning that I am all alone in the house. I look at the clock and decide that I should get ready to talk to the cheating ex.

I walk back up to my room with a bounce in my step, knowing that I'll get to confront him. I open my closet and look for a simple but stunning outfit, knowing that my plan was to talk to him, not seduce him.

I pull out a black dress with polka dots and put it on, making sure that no part of my bra is showing in the mirror. I grab my crossbody purse and put my necessities in there, walking downstairs to put my shoes on.

I put my yellow converses and walk out the door, making sure to close the door like Rhys said. I pulled out the slip of paper that had the name of the business that Alex owned. My bus didn't go that far, meaning that I would have to call a taxi.

I sigh, I always hated calling taxis because of my shy nature and the awkward car ride. The taxi came a couple minutes later and I stepped into the backseat, plugging in my headphones to give me some type of entertainment.

The taxi pulls out to a stop and I get out, making sure to pay the driver. The looming business building towers over me as I squint, trying to read the name.

Artistry inc. is what I read. What the hell do they do? I had never heard of them before. I sigh before stepping into the building and instantly feeling out of place. The chandeliers were made of glass, gold, and tears from paying so much for a decoration.

I looked at the signs, looking for Alex's office. Alex's office. That feels so weird to say since he was a trust fund kid. Screw trust fund kids, they were always the most petty. I walked into the elevator, gasping at the number of floors that the building had. I shook my head, I was getting distracted.

My eyes scanned over trying to find the 50th floor button, pressing it and waiting for the lift to go up. The elevator dinged, opening its doors, showing me the beautiful waiting room. I walk up to his secretary and tell her my name that I used to book the appointment,

"Hi. I have an appointment with Mr. Regald." I say as the secretary looks over my attire with a disapproving expression. I roll my eyes,

"Is there something wrong?" She looks at me, popping her gum in my face before saying,

"Nothing, it's just that you look like a little girl."She says shaking her head and I lean down, getting deathly close to her,

"It's better than looking like a lady of the night." I resort, looking at my nails. She chokes on her spit and manages to choke out,

"What's your name?"

"Araluen Monet." I say with practiced confidence, looking her straight in the eyes. She swallows and breaks eye contact,

"Mrs. Monet, you're gonna have to wait." I nod, softly saying,

"Thank you." I sit down, playing with my fingers until I hear my name being called.

"Mrs.Monet? It's your turn to go into Mr.Regald's office." She says shakily and I stand up,collect myself, and walk into the room. I see Alex, his head down, looking at the various papers on his desk.

"Hey Araluen, it's been a while. Do you have another girl for me?" I scoff gently and say,

"That's why she was always gone during sundays. Huh Alex?" His head snaps up hearing his name. His green-hazel eyes look into mine,

"You're not Ara." I chuckle,

"I'm definitely not Ara." I say as his face remains blank. His eyes scan over my body and land on the ring on my neck. His eyes widen,

"Talulah? Princess what are you doing here?" He walks toward me and I take a step back, holding my hands out. I shake my head,

"You have no right to call me that anymore Alex." I say he nods,

"You're right. I do have no right to call you that. What are you doing here?" He asks, sitting on top of his desk. My eyes look at him with sadness,

"To talk about the suit filed against you." I say, my voice cracking. His face turns red in anger,

"Romeo found out about you? I told him to stay away." I shake off what he just told me as I sit down on the floor,

"What did you do?" I ask, and he hesitates,

"I made some moves on some of my employees. I thought that they wanted it." I bite my lip,

"That's harassment. I can't- I don't even know how to react to this" I say, starting to walk out the door.

"Did Ara send you here?" I closed my eyes hearing her name, looking him dead in the eyes, something I couldn't do when I was in a relationship with him.

"That ended a long time ago."
