CHAPTER 32

Section 28

"The Voice that Creeps in the Night"

"I'll be done in a sec." 

I hid the book back from the shelf, even though I have no idea why it was in my hand in the first place.

I came out and met the three of them near the kitchen. "What do you want to eat?" Lia asked.

"Ako na ang bahala, thank you." wika ko.

Lia gave me a plate as she was starting to get some food. I realized that Eugene's eyes were staring at me for no definite reason. 

Did I do something strange in the library? Why is he staring at me so eagerly?

I tried hiding without him noticing. While getting sandwiches I quickly walked past the door. I caught a glimpse of him and saw him looking at me still.

I ate near the kitchen door and finish my food quickly. 

When I was done I washed my plate and went out of the dining hall. Eugene's stares give me creeps and I don't know why, it's like I've done something wrong earlier.

Come to think of it I did forget something happened in the library as something struck me while cleaning the room.

I went to our floor and head inside our room. I notice Alexis and Lilac already on their beds. "Finished already?" they asked.

"Yes." I smiled. "Thank you."

"Thank you for helping me with fixing half of the house."

"Don't mention it," Lilac replied. "None of it is your fault, you shouldn't blame yourself." Alexis reminded me.

"Thank you." 

I washed my face and tuck myself into the bed. I closed my eyes and before I knew it, I was already fast asleep.

Siguro dahil sa dami ng mga ginawa ko ngayong araw at a sunod-sunod na problema ay nakatulog nalang ako ng biglaan nang hindi ko namamalayan.

But then even before I fell asleep. i was thinking of a lot of things.

Things that don't make much sense. Like how was I really able to find the missing piece from the book? How is it that I'm the only one here in the mansion who hears that resonating voice every time I need help?

I have a lot of questions that need answers.

Wait, is this a dream?

I have a strange feeling. Somehow my body feels at ease but, my mind doesn't. I'm sure this is all a dream but then what am I doing in front of the library?

What am I thinking while I'm unconsioucs? Did I forget something in the library that's why I'm here?

I have no slightest idea why I am here.

"Pssst..." someone whispers.

This is it, that same feeling I always feel when that voice calls for me.

What's the deal though? Why me?

I have no idea why does it keep calling me and why does it want to talk to me? 

Wait it said something earlier. It said it'll come back once it needs me for the reward. What does that even mean? What reward is it talking about?

I did not even ask for help instead, it p[resented itself in front of me through my vision and resulting in me to faint. 

"I see, you're here?" it said.
