Everywhere - Niall Horan
Shawn's POV
May 2019I saw Camila's post when she received my PR package for IICHY and then I heard nothing from her until a week later when I saw on her pictures on Instagram that she had gone to Italy with that guy. My heart didn't do very well. I had once again put out there a song that confessed my love for her in front of everyone and she ran away with her boyfriend. I was such a pathetic loser. The good thing was that the songs was doing well and fans liked it.
Needless to say I was more than impressed and surprised when I got a call from her saying she wanted to talk to me. My guess was that she was done with me and would ask me to stop releasing music that made her uncomfortable. I was so nervous when she walked through the small cafe doors with her sunglasses on and her hair in a bun. She looked ready for business and ready to drag my ass.
"Hi", I stood up and hugged her awkwardly when she joined me at the table.
"Hi", she said and then sat in front of me, taking off the sunglasses.
We first had the usual polite conversation, how are you? how is your family? how's work? I never asked about her boyfriend, I never even named him properly and I had no intention of doing so, it was not my business. She told me she had started to work on her new album, I told her about the shows in Europe. It was nice and casual, but I wanted to know what had really brought us here.
"What did you want to talk about?", I asked when we ran out of topics to discuss.
"I, uh... I hope you are still interested...", she started to say and I frowned. "I've been thinking, you know... about that project we talked about... and, I don't know, if now it's a good time maybe we could... you know, give it a try?"
I thought the song was long forgotten, specially after the song I chose to release instead of our collaboration, so her words obviously caught me by surprise.
"I know it's been a long time since the first time we discussed it and we both turned it down at some point, but it could be a good one, don't you think?", she said excited but nervous.
My head was going to explode. This was not what I was expecting this lunch to go.
"Or maybe we can just forget about it..." she murmured drinking from her pink lemonade and looking down.
"You know... let's just go to the studio and see how it goes there", I offered, still trying to process all.
Why was she so eager to work on this now?
"Ok, yes... let's do that", she smiled a bit more relieved.
I went back to my place in L.A. and rang Andrew to tell him about what had happened.
"Do you want to do this?", he asked me.
Did I?... Yes. Without a doubt. If she was in, I was too. It was a great opportunity, for more than once reason.
"I think I do", I murmured, rubbing the back of my neck.
"Of course you do", he laughed. "Ok, I'll make some calls and tell you when everything is ready, ok?"
Three days later we were on a studio that Andrew had booked for us with people from our team and the producers that came out with the song in the first place.
She walked in wearing a black top and black leggings with her hair up in a messy bun. The air got trapped in my lungs for a few seconds when I saw her but I had to recover quickly when her mom came to say hi to me.
