Blurry - JP Saxe
Shawn's POV
July 2019I laid the phone next to me on the pillow and built a grip around it with the other cushions so it wouldn't fall.
"What are you doing?", Camila asked me.
"I wanna lay next to you", I explained and put my head on the pillow, looking directly at her.
"Aw...", she said and I got the impression she wanted to say something else but held back. I kept that thought to myself. "Let me try that".
I saw her struggle and fight with her phone that kept falling over and over again until she got it right. She made funny silly faces while her front camera looked like there was an earthquake going on where she was.
"Don't laugh at me!", she complained.
"You're so funny when you're frustrated", I said.
"The stupid phone didn't want to cooperate", she sighed when she finally got it right and got in bed just like I was doing it.
"Right", I smiled.
I was back on tour and counting the days to see her again. That 24 hour in L.A. with her had recharged my energy and I felt like brand new again, but it was always good to see her.
"What are you thinking?", she asked me with a sweet high pitch noise and flirty eyes.
"Do you remember that time we were at the iHeart Radio Festival in 2015... when I scared you at the red carpet?"
"Yeah...", she smiled thinking of it. "I do".
"You looked beautiful".
"You were so annoying that night", she exclaimed.
"Yeah... I was actually trying to flirt", I confessed awkwardly.
"I know", she laughed. "We were so stupid back then".
"You were too much for me", I whispered looking at her eyes right now.
"You were always making fun of me, I thought you considered me one of your bros or something". This time I laughed.
"You were way too beautiful and cute to think that, although you fought right back with me".
"I had to, I wasn't letting you win", she bragged.
"And I really liked that", I smiled.
"I really liked to do it too", she whispered and I contemplated her for a few seconds.
"I was an idiot back then and, honestly, if we had tried something, I would've ruined it", I told her adamant.
"Why are you so sure?", she asked me, although she didn't sound like she disagreed.
"I was too young and nervous and inexperienced. I thought I was this cool guy when I actually didn't know anything", I said.
"We all go through that".
"Yeah, but I'm glad that phase didn't ruined us that early", I explained.
"I wasn't going anywhere, I was always checking on you", she confessed and I couldn't help but blush.
"I was always checking on you too".
"Sometimes it wasn't a romantic thing, more like a friendly concern because I hadn't seen you in a while, but I did it anyways".
"I know what you mean. Even when we were somewhere else... romantically, I still wanted to know about you".
"I wasn't ready for this to happen now", she said softly. "But I don't regret it one bit".
