It's you - Ali Gatie

Camila's POV
June 2019

Shawn went away shortly after we decided to try whatever we were doing. We weren't naming it just yet, we were just... vibing. It'd been a week since I last saw him and I was dying to do it again. He was about to start his second leg of his tour, now in North America, and he was preparing for it. We both knew we didn't have the most relaxed schedules, but we were going to try nonetheless.

I felt a ball of nerves and happiness in my stomach every time I got a text from him or saw him calling to facetime. It felt like a teen romance and maybe that was exactly why I felt so strong about this situation. I was experiencing everything I hadn't experienced before. The stares, the giggles, the messages. It felt refreshing and young.

He was back home getting ready to hit the road again with the first show in Portland. I knew he was excited and I always loved how much effort and enthusiasm he had for what he did.

"Hi", I said when his face appeared on my phone.

"Hi", he replied softly.

"How did the rehearsal go?", I asked him.

"Good", he said. "It was fun. We already tried to add Señorita to the set list".

"Yeah? Did you like it?"

"I'd like it more if you were with me".

"Maybe someday", I smiled.

"How did your day go?"

"Good too. I did some yoga and then stopped by the studio".

"More songs?"

"Not more, just still working on the ones I have".

"I thought you would have been writing about us by now", he fake whined.

"What makes you think I haven't already?", I teased him.

"Wait..." he whispered. "You have?"

"I don't know, you'll have to find out later", I said and he pouted.

"You are mean", he said looking directly into his camera and staring into my soul.

"I'm not", I said with a smile. "You just have to wait for when they're ready".

"You're still sending me the album before the release day, right?"

"Of course".

"Good".

There was a pause and I all I could do was stare at him and smile. It felt surreal, like we were acting or playing, but we were not. We had actually confessed our feelings for each other. I just wished he could have been here with me or I could've been there with him.

"What?", he laughed awkwardly.

"Nothing", I laughed as well.

"I don't know how to do this", he admitted and his eyes wandered around. "I think you make me even more nervous now".

"I make you nervous?" I asked and he nodded with a shy smile. "Why?"

"I don't know, you are so... you, and I'm just so awkward around you".

"You're cute around me", I corrected him.

"Well now you think that", he chuckled.

"You've always been cute!", I said offended that he didn't believe my words.

"Anyways, I don't want to be just cute, you know", he raised his eyebrows.

"Oh trust me, you are way more than just cute".
