So beautiful - James Morrison
Camila's POV
September 2019Napa Valley was like a bubble, a much needed bubble full of love, cuddles, laughter and happy moments. But the bubble bursted and Shawn and I had to go our separate way to take care of our business. While I flew to Los Angeles to continue with the Liar promo and some rehearsals for upcoming shows, Shawn flew back to his hometown to spend time with his family before kicking off to a new leg of his tour. Saying goodbye was hard, like every time.
I was still trying to decide if posting the "fish kiss" video was a smart move. The internet exploded and even though we were prepared for that to happen, we never foresaw the magnitud of it. Almost a week had gone by and people were still talking about it. I wouldn't mind if they were just commenting on it, but some were going far and beyond with their words. I didn't understand why people felt compelled to express their opinions about other people in such a nasty and harmful way.
I tried to stay out of social media because of that, but it was a tricky task because I had just put my new music video out and I wanted my fans to enjoy it as much as I had enjoyed filming it. Life was really a mess sometimes.
"Get up, move your ass", Sara told me when I was sat on the floor of the dancing studio.
We had got together to plan some of the last details for my upcoming iHeartRadio performance and I thought we were ready.
"What for?", I asked her.
"You need to loosen up", she raised her eyebrows. "Look, I might not be a therapist or exactly what you need right now, but dancing helps me release all the bad energy, so we'll try it".
"Yeah... we already danced a lot...", murmured.
"No, that was work. We're gonna do it because we want to, just for fun".
"I don't know...", I whined.
"Get up", she instructed and walked to stand in the middle of the room, facing the mirror.
"Go", Calvit whispered to me as a warning.
I followed her lead and stood next to her. She asked her boyfriend to play Que Calor by J Balvin and Major Lazer and showed me the first steps.
"This choreo isn't ready yet, so feel free to suggest any moves you want".
We went at it and the first fifteen minutes were stiff. I just focused on mirroing her steps and not messing up but then I realized there was nothing to mess up, we were making up most of the moves as the song played. I needed to loosen up, as Sara had told me, to let go of negatives ideas that were holding me back. I saw as my smiled came back to my face, little by little and started to really enjoyed myself. Calvit even recorded us and sent me the video. It felt good.
"Now, tell me, baby. Is Shawn who I need to beat up?", Sara asked me when we sat back down and grabbed our water bottles.
"No", I giggled. "Not at all. He's wonderful".
"Phew. It would've broken my heart to do something to him, he's too sweet", Calvit said.
"Yeah, why is he so sweet for?", Sara frowned. "And why did you take so long to get together? It's insane".
Talking about Shawn always put a smile on my face and hearing people speak about how good his heart was, made mine so happy.
"We were young, and stupid", I shrugged. "I liked him like a long time ago, but our lives were messy and we didn't know how to handle them, not that I have a clue now but still".
