Lego House - Ed Sheeran

Camila's POV
September 2019

I woke up very early but the sun was already rising up. I looked over at Shawn who was sleeping on his belly, with his arms curled under his pillow. Waking up next to him wasn't a novelty anymore, but waking up next to him in his apartment was. I watched his body rise and fall with every calm breath and I had the urge to kiss his face but I didn't want to wake him up. Instead, I got out of bed little by little, moving ever so slowly until I had completely left the mattress. I grabbed his black cardigan that was laying around the room and walked barefoot to the living room. He had the most amazing view of Toronto right there. I stood in front of the window for a moment to appreciate it and then walked into the kitchen for a cup of tea.

Starting the Romance era was something that I had long awaited but now that it was here, it felt too real, too intense, just too much. I always had in plans to come to Shawn's hometown and make the most of his days off before his show at the Roger Center, but now that I was here, I was also hiding from my career obligations. I just wanted the music and the art, and not all the other affairs that came with it. Those were the things that took the fun out of it, and if I didn't have the fun, then anxiety took its place.

I went back to the sofa in front of the big window with the cup in my hands. It was early but I couldn't sleep in, my mind wasn't letting me.

I inevitably would have to go back and get promo done, but unless it was extremely necessary, I wasn't leaving Shawn's side and his calming presence before scheduled. Maybe I was being reckless, but my mental health couldn't take much more than that at the moment.

I spent about an hour staring at the city under my feet before I heard footsteps behind me. I closed my eyes and breathed in when big hands massaged my shoulders and my boyfriend kissed the top of my head.

"I was alone", he said and I looked up to him, smiling at his pouting lips.

"I didn't want to wake you", I told him and he walked around to sit next to me. I put the cup away and tried to fix his curls with my fingers.

"You couldn't sleep?"

"No", I confessed.

He opened his arms for me and I leaned into his body, thankful for his gesture. His bare chest was warm and his arms completely wrapped around my body.

"What are we doing today?", he asked me trying to change the mood.

"I don't know...", I said. It looked like it was going to be a sunny day and sunny days couldn't be wasted.

"I was thinking aboutbgoing to the gym, would you be up for that?", he asked me softly, brushing my hair.

"Yeah, that's fine", I smiled.

Not gonna lie, watching Shawn working out was a spectacle, I knew that as soon as he proposed coming to the gym and I was witnessing it now. I never very much liked working out and feeling out of breath but he encouraged me to be healthy and I understood I had to take care of my body as much as my mind. I ran on the treadmill while I watched him lift weights. His cheeks were pink and the way the muscles on his arms tensed made my mouth water every time. He caught me staring more than once and I was sure my whole face turned red.

Exercising took my mind out of work and I felt more relaxed when we left the gym and returned to his apartment. I took a shower first and Shawn ordered food meanwhile. When he was on the shower, I wondered around the apartment. I knew didn't spend much time here but it was still interesting checking the stuff he had around. I kinda felt like looking into his mind or his soul, and I liked what I was discovering. It was modern and I knew his mom had helped him a lot, but his essence was captured on every detail.
