Chapter 24:

Haneul's POV:

We saw no one, at all. There was no one outside, the place was deserted. "What?" Wooyoung ceased his eyebrows. "I never expected this." Yeosang spoke after.

I looked around more and sighed. "Where are the people? Where are they?" I whispered. I gripped my hair in frustration. A hand landed on my shoulder. "Hey, hey. We'll explore, we'll find out what happened." Seonghwa slightly smiled.

"My parents. I need to find my parents!" Yoona frantically spun around in circles. The others just stayed quiet. Their mind seemed to be clouded and confused.

Well, we expected it to be like when we left and got trapped inside the facility but I don't think it stayed the same.

"Should we roam around?" Hongjoong asked. We all agreed since we need to stick together. All of us started to walk, the sound of soft footsteps was all that we heard. There were tall buildings surrounding us. I'm guessing we're at the main area of the city.

"There, a mall." Mingi pointed a large built five-story building. "What are we gonna do there?" Chaelin rolled her eyes. "Shopping." Mingi showed his big smile before running to the place. "Mingi!" Yunho sighed. We all followed his suit and headed towards the mall.

I entered the mall last. Old clothes, dusty floors, broken lights. It was definitely not used years ago. "Uh, Mingi? I don't think we can do shopping." Jongho checked again, he rubbed his eyes and looked closely to see if he was going crazy.

"What now?" San leaned on a very dusty glass wall. I coughed at the floating minis. "I don't know." I replied.

"There's really no people at all? What happened to them? Or is it just here at the main city?" Yeosang spoke, patting his fluffly hair. "Why are you asking us? How are we supposed to know?" Wooyoung pointed at himself.

"You stupid-" "No time for fighting. We need to figure things out, idiots." Hongjoong shushed the two. I silently snickered. "Hey." Wooyoung pouted.

"Didn't Yeonmi warn us before? Ugh, I hate this already." Chaelin puffed her cheeks. I looked around again, hoping that we just saw everything wrong. No. Nope, still abandoned.

"We should head back." Yunho suddenly suggested. We all halted in our place and faced the taller boy. "What? Come again?" I blinked my eyes.

"We should head back to KQ because for all I know, we'll just get lost here in this place." He spoke much clearer. Hongjoong gritted his teeth in annoyance. "We've waited for years to achieve this freedom, and now you wanna go back?"

"Guys, don't fight." Yoona sighed. "Yunho's right. We should head back. We'll free the other trainees as well. We'll live here freely. We'll ask help for Yeonmi. We'll start again." Yeosang's voice resonated to the whole area.

"I don't think I agree."
