to the moon

Max never thought she could be pretty, she could love someone, she could deserve the love of someone. Why? 'Cause, no one ever set an example of love or let alone taught her how to love someone. So she questioned why she would deserve such a strong and beautiful feeling.
Max never knew how to shoot a slingshot at 14, never had a cake for her birthday at 15, she didn't know how to say "I love you" at 16: nobody ever taught her that, but the sky had thought of someone to teach her that feeling.
And Max didn't know what she's gonna do that night at 17, such a beautiful summer night full of stars in the sky lighting as a million diamonds.
Max didn't know how to be loved, how to make love, but that night, for the first time, she knew that only one person could teach her how to do it.
And that person was the only one she would ever want by her side that night.
And Lucas?
Lucas taught her how to shoot a slingshot, he remembered her birthday at 15, but that night in front of her red cheeks lighted by the moonlight, about to touch the "older things" they have waited so much to live together, he could never lie: he really didn't know what he was about to do.
But the only thing he knew was that he always wanted to have that moment with her, with his Max.
And Lucas that night knew Max was not just to be loved: she had to be cured, to be saved, and he was ready to give to her all the love his young heart could hold inside.
And when his hands stroked her bare skin for the very first time, showing inches of her body never shown before, Lucas thought he had never seen something more perfect and lovable than Max.
'Cause Max wasn't perfect, with her tiny body trembling into his arms, she was not perfect with her pale arms or messy hair, her skin was not perfect, but full of lil or deep scars, but Lucas already knew them all. And he already loved them all.
And when Lucas stretched her body down under his, he didn't think about these little things, but he was just repeating into his mind only a prayer, the most important one: that the sky grants him the force to love her how she deserved that night.
"Max...are you sure? Do you want to?"
"...yes"
"Are you afraid?"
"No..."
"...I am" Lucas tried to smile hiding his fear, feeling Max's body moving under his.
Her face under his eyes is one of the best wonders he has ever seen, her eyes two magnets he couldn't stop admiring.
"Max..." Lucas swallowed, unable to stop his hands from caressing her cheeks and locks under him. And Max's fingers going down his bareback was something Lucas couldn't keep anymore.
He wanted her, he wanted her all.
He wanted her kisses, her hands tight on his hair, her legs around his hips, her faster breaths whispered into his ear. He wanted to be her first one, but much more than these, he wanted her to feel safer than ever before.
"Max, if I hurt you, you have to tell me, okay?" Lucas whispered breathless, feeling his heart unable to beat slower.
"Mike said I could hurt you the first time and...damn, Max, I don't wanna hurt you, I just hope..."
"Lucas!" Max stopped him with a big smile, closing his lips with a finger and seeing his dark eyes open of wonder. Max was trembling too, but she was already sure everything will be alright if she was with him.
With her adorable, caring, and dorky little boyfriend.
"Lucas..."
"...yes?"
"...I love you" Max smiled praying that it was enough, cause she couldn't find better words than these.
"Just...kiss me"
And Lucas started from her lips, smiled back happy as a boy, in love as a man, putting her legs closer to his hips, caressing with delicate fingers the scar of her leg, her chest, her back, her arms around his neck.
And Max closed her eyes, feeling herself about to fall: but she wasn't scared to fall any more, if into his arms. She already knew he had held her before the ground.
And when Lucas's lips came back to hers and his arms moving her hips closer to his with just one move, Max lost her breath but pressed her lips to his more and more, not to make him go away.
Cause yes, it had hurt a lot, but it was the sweetest pain she had ever felt.
And it was nothing if now they had just become one from two.
"I love you, Lucas, so much..."
"I love you, Max, so much"
"To the moon and back?"
"To the heavens and back."
