When Lucas entered his bedroom, his heart immediately swelled up. The girl he adored most was fast asleep in his bed while wearing his sweatshirt. Her red hair lay strewed across the pillows.
After a quick shower, Lucas decided it was time to wake up his girlfriend. Waking Max up is always a dangerous task. However, Lucas has learned the best way to minimize a poor reaction from the girl.
Max felt arms wrap around her waist and kisses placed on her temple. She hated that she loved it. A slight smile crept onto her face when he mumbled her name against her skin. The redhead hummed and turned towards him in response.
He grinned when their noses touched due to their closeness. The two stared into each other's eyes for a little while until the redhead spoke up.
"Hi," Her voice was quiet.
"Are you still tired?" Lucas asked while brushing a strand of hair out of her face.
"Depends...what are you planning?"
"I was going to ask if you wanted to get food with me." Max's eyes seemed to brighten up when he mentioned food.
"Drive-thru?" She asked hopefully.
"For sure."
Max grabbed his face to give him a long kiss before they left. It was the middle of winter, and in Indiana, that meant the frigid cold and snow. Neither of them minded the cold much, mainly because it gave them an excuse to stay inside.
"How was practice?" Max asked as she jumped into the passenger seat.
"It was fine, but it went by painfully slow." When Lucas turned the car on, he noticed it was already 8:30.
"Well, good thing we have school off tomorrow, and I doubt you'll have practice."
"Why wouldn't I have practice tomorrow?" Lucas was confused. The only reason they had school off was for a professional development day which doesn't interfere with the basketball schedule.
"We're supposed to get a huge snowstorm tonight. Have you not looked at your phone?" Max asked. The snowstorm has been on the news for the last week and a half. The midwest is supposed to get at least a foot of snow.
"Hold up. Why are we going out to get food then?"
"They say it isn't supposed to start till midnight."
Lucas jacked up the heat and pulled into the drive-thru. Once they got their food, Lucas parked, and the snow was slowly falling as they ate.
Max thought about how peaceful snow can be. The tiny flakes of frozen water seemed to quiet the world, almost like the snow-absorbed sounds made by those who inhabit the earth. She also knew how dangerous snow could be. The snowflakes make you cold, and they could trap you, make the world go dark in a matter of seconds. The best things in life are in contrast.
A phone ringing brought her out of her trance. It was Lucas's mom.
"Hey, mom, what's up?" Lucas asked over speakerphone.
"Hi, honey! Are you home?" Max smiled at her voice. She loved the relationship her boyfriend had with his mother.
"No, Max and I just picked something up to eat. Why?"
"The snowstorm just canceled our flight home. We'll be staying in a hotel tonight, and I don't want you out in this storm. Can you please get home soon? It is coming your way on the radar."
"Oh, ok. We're heading back right now," Lucas provided his mother with comfort.
They said their goodbyes and hung up.
"I guess we have the house to ourselves tonight," Lucas looked over at Max and smiled.
"We should make cookies!" Max exclaimed.
"Only if they're chocolate chip," Lucas began driving home.
As soon as they got home, Max began pulling ingredients out of the cabinets. Lucas beamed at her initiative. He watched as her lengthy red hair draped over her shoulders. The muscles in her calves flexed when she stood on her tiptoes to reach the chocolate chips. She was in her element, and it was mesmerizing.
The redhead could feel eyes on her every movement. She knew they were Lucas's, so she didn't mind. Her cheeks heated up at his attentiveness.
The oven beeped, signaling it was time to put the cookies in. Once Max opened the oven door, it went dark. The electricity went out. "Goddamnit," She cursed.
"Hold on. I'm grabbing candles." Max could hear Lucas's voice in the distance, and while she couldn't see him, she assumed he was in the hallway.
Max thought she knew the Sinclair's house like the back of her hand, but she couldn't see two feet in front of her causing her to stay put in front of the oven.
A soft clicking noise began behind her, and soon, a candle was lit. The tiny flame illuminated Lucas's face as he lit others. Max took the candles and spread them out around the house. The flame made the objects in each room easier to see.
"What are we going to do with all this cookie dough?" Max was a little disappointed.
"Eat it, duh," Lucas liked raw cookie dough more than the baked cookies themself. He grabbed the bowl from his girlfriend and ate a scoop of the chocolate chip dough.
"You're going to get salmonella," Max pointed out.
Lucas chuckled and added, "Who do you know that's gotten salmonella? Cause I have eaten raw cookie dough since I was a kid and have never once gotten sick."
"Good point," She grabbed a piece and ate it.
Lucas's eyes were set on his girlfriend. He couldn't help it. The candle flames were casting a warm glow onto her face, which made her look breathtaking.
"You look pretty," He said softly.
"You're a dork, you know that?"
"I'm aware. Come on," Lucas was holding one of his hands out, waiting for Max to grab it.
Their fingers intertwined, and Max was swept into the middle of the kitchen. Her laugh erupted as he began to dance with her. The twirls slowed down into a sway. Her arms were around his neck as his hands rested on her waist. The whirling wind from outside filled the silence. It felt comfortable and safe.
Lucas decided to bring her down into a dip. Moving one hand off her waist, he gripped her thigh and brought it up to his hip as he kissed her passionately. The once slow, short kiss turned into the opposite. She couldn't help but want more and tugged him with her until she was pressed against the wall.
The kisses were slow but heavy. And the need they had for each other was growing immensely. His drawing breaths began to turn her on. She wrapped her leg around his waist, bringing him in closer. Lucas inhaled a sharp breath when they made contact.
"Please..." Max typically didn't beg, but she could feel her core pulsing.
Kisses were being placed down his neck as he carried Max upstairs. It got harder for him to focus on each stair.
Both of their shirts were off in a matter of seconds. Max realized she didn't have to be quiet when his mouth encased around her nipple. Her noises only encouraged Lucas more. She rubbed against him harder causing him to groan.
"Holy shit just fuck me already," She breathed out impatiently.
He did as he was told and undressed to slid into her. Each time he thrusted harder and harder. Their hands were intertwined while her other begged him closer. His fingers were pressing against her clit in circular motion. Her back arched when he hit her g spot repeatedly.
They both came undone but stayed close together. The body heat they received from each other made up for the lack of heaters in the house.
Omg I've been so busy. So sorry I haven't posted. Haven't revised this but I never do so whatever lol. Hope you enjoyed. My schedule is only about to get busier so idk when I'll update. Have a good week!!
