"Her name," she paused, "it's Anastasia. I'll be checking in with her to make sure you're doing fine." With that she continued her path downstairs, leaving me sad and alone.

Anastasia, huh? I wonder what she would be like. Raven didn't tell me a lot about her, but only by her name I could already tell she was a vampire, it was way to old school to be a human's name. I thought about the relation I would have with her, I hoped she would be nice to me, unlike Raven at first. I kept thinking about her, until I felt my eyes grow heavy and drifted asleep soon after.

I woke up and it was already morning. The clock read 8 in the morning, I really slept for the whole day... what a waste. I looked by my side and noticed a letter coming from Raven.

Hey Bee,

I had to go early, but, I left you some takeout on the kitchen table, as well as a new phone for you. The maid should be there at 10 am, she'll be happy to see you for sure. I have known her for a while, she only accepted this job because I was the one to ask her, so please respect her and show her gratitude...

Anyways, I'll see you soon, love, Raven.

I finished reading with a small tear in my eye, sad that I didn't have the chance to say goodbye to Raven, but quickly wiped it away and went downstairs to my breakfast. The stairs cracked under my footsteps, proving they were old. I got to the kitchen table seeing pancakes that were still hot in a styrofoam container. There was chocolate syrup as well as maple syrup accompanying the plate.

I ate in silence, examining my first and new phone, waiting for Anastasia to arrive. It already had contacts in it, so Raven must have accustomed it already. I finished my plate, then cleaned everything up like always, it was 8:45 when I already had nothing to do. I went in the living room and sat alone, once again, lost in my thoughts. I really wondered what Raven did as a job, but if she had to go away for five days, it had to mean she was an important figure.

Time passed, I played with my thumbs, I played with my phone and enjoyed the solitude. 10 am got here pretty fast and exactly as the clock changed hour, the front door opened. I looked over to see the maid, shy at first, but when I saw what she looked like, my eyes grew wide in amazement.

She was white, like really white. I had never seen someone like that, so curiosity took over me as soon as my eyes met hers. Her hair was also white and long enough to touch the back of her knees. Her eyes, that were normally supposed to be black or dark red were pink. She was small, probably 4'10 or something like that, she literally looked like a bunny.

"Hii, Bee! How are you? Im Anastasia." She smiled brightly at me, showing her small and sharp fangs.

"Umm, hi," I smiled back to her, trying to hide my small blush, "I'm good... how are you?"

"Oh, I'm wonderful!" She placed her bag down at the table and joined me in the living room. "Raven called me just to keep an eye on you, you must be special. How did you meet?" She asked me innocently.

"Oh, well, it's kind of a long story..." I hesitated on telling her the truth, afraid that Raven wouldn't want me to do so.

"You can tell me, if you're afraid that Raven will be mad, don't think about it... I've known Raven for all my life, she's actually the one that turned me and besides that, if she has something to say, she'll come to me first." She smiled again showing off her bubbly personality.

"Okay, I just don't want her to punish me or anything," I paused, seeing her confused reaction, "she bought me." I only said the essential, as it's what I was thought since the beginning of my life. Never say to much, Bee. The drunk words of my mother came to my mind, the way she always said my name in disgust echoed in my head way to much.

"Really?" Her eyebrows lifted, " I don't know why it's surprising me, I always knew Raven was a sick motherfucker, but I guess I thought she wouldn't go BUY someone, especially after what happened with Elizabeth..." her eyes darted to the top left, showing she was deep on her thoughts.

"Who's Elizabeth?" I asked her confused, but seeing she was pretty opened, I had already planned to ask her a lot of questions.

"Oh, Raven didn't tell you about her? She was Raven's lover back in the day... I think it's been 300 years now, they were so in love, until the king decided otherwise." She sat cross-legged, showing her more childish side, if she wasn't already enough.

"What happened?" I asked her another question trying to get as much information as I could before she realized my intentions.

"He just didn't think Raven should have a distraction..." she answered simply.

"A distraction from what?" Her eyes darkened at my question.

"I don't think I should be saying that much... if Raven didn't already tell you about 'Liz, she doesn't want you to know about her job, for sure." She got up and turned around, once again smiling at me.

"Oh, sorry, I didn't mean to upset you..."

"You didn't upset me, love." She took my hands and led me to the library, clearly knowing where she was going.

"I always loved this place, ever since I was a child, Raven took care of me. She's like my mom, you see, I was always bullied, because of my condition..." she specified.

"Can I ask you what condition it is?" I felt dumb asking her, but I think that considering my experiences and the lack of education, it was understandable.

"It's albinism." She smiled again, "anyways, she turned me, because of it... I was almost killed and only because I'm different... that's when she decided to turn me. It was either me becoming a vampire or dying and even though you might think Raven is a devil, she actually would do anything for those she loves, that's why 'Liz's death meant so much. She was unable to do anything and it broke her..."

I felt a tear run down my cheek, imagining what Raven must have felt. Losing a loved one is really hard, i mean, I lost my failure of parents and still felt sad, so I could only imagine what it was like losing someone you actually cared for.
