Sophia's POV

   

It's been three days since Gerry left Manila for Puerto Prinsesa. I missed him so much and I've been longing for him. I wanted to go to him so badly but I can't. My mom is still here and still has no plan to go back to New York.

    

I turned on the television while my mom was at the kitchen, cooking her favorite Adobo. 

    

"Sophie, how's your work, hindj ka ba pinagagalitan ng boss mo at hindi ka na pumapasok?" She asks, out of the blue.

   

"Mom, you have nothing to worry about. Naka leave ako and two weeks ang hiningi kong leave para na rin makasama po kita and sa daddy." I told her, speaking of dad, he left us already for work. Isang araw at kalahati lang ata ito. "Ikaw, mom don't you have any pending?" Nakatalikod ito sa gawi ko kaya naman hindi niya nakikitang nakatingin ako sakanya.

    

"Tomorrow afternoon baka uuwi na sa New York. Masyado nang mahaba ang bisita ko rito. Hindi mo rin naman gustong bumili ng new house and you look fine now. Mukhang naka move-on ka na sa ex mo---ahhh, I forgot the name." She looked to me. "Kaya kung ikaw maghahanap ka ng lalaki, siguraduhin mong hindi ka lolokohin sa huli."

    

I filled my lungs with an air. "Mom, you're being exaggerated."

   

She turned the electric stove off and placed the adobo at the dining table. "It's not being exaggerated, hija." She sat at the end. "Hindi ko gustong nakikita kang nasasaktan ng ganoon kalala. I mean being hurt in love is normal."

   

I stood up from the couch and walked to her. Naupo ako sa isang bakanteng upuan. "I know, mom."

   

She looked directly to my eyes, looking for emotions. "Like I said, it's normal to feel hurt but it's not normal to tolerate that pain."

   

I remained silent and listened to her.

  

"Sinasabi nila 'A third party? Normal nalang yan?' But it's not normal. Don't tolerate that sin. Kasi kapag nagbreak kayo, gagawin din niya yun sa ibang tao. They gave you some lesson then give them lessons too." She says frankly.

   

"Opo, mom, I've learned my lessons. Hindi ko na hahayaan na maulit saki yung ginawa ng ex ko. I'm done from being dumb and I'm more mature now. I was just ao drunk in love that time." I told her. "Nadala ako ng mabulaklak na salita niya."

   

She reached my hand and held it carefully and softly. "Wag mong madaliin ang sarili mo, it wasn't you who'll heal that wound. It is time who'll heal it. Magigising ka nalang one day, okay ka na. Wala nang pain, wala namg pagsisisi at okay na ang lahat." She smiled to me.
