**The following chapters contain scenes within a courtroom. Any mistake in wordage, procedure, etc is just that, a mistake. I am not a lawyer nor work within a courthouse. I did do some research yet I know I missed a lot so please forgive and overlook any discrepancies. Also, I do not own the rights to this picture. Thanks and please enjoy.**
Monday: Court Day
Wyatt POV: 8:30am, at home
I am dressed in a dark gray suit with a dark blue tie. I walk down the staircase and head toward the kitchen while holding my jacket in my left hand. I enter the kitchen and see Ms Debbie, who is a cook and light housekeeper for the house, cooking bacon and biscuits. I see coffee and orange juice on the counter along with a bowl of fruit. Ms Debbie is a sweet lady in her fifties with light brown hair that has a tint of gray throughout, light brown eyes, and a warm smile.
"What can I get for you Wyatt?" she ask me as I walk in and take a seat at the table after draping my jacket over the back of my chair.
"Um, I'm not sure Ms Debbie. I'm really nervous about court so I'm afraid to eat actually. I might throw it up", I honestly tell her.
"I'm sorry. I don't know what you are going through so I won't say I know exactly how you feel dear. I can relate. I do understand being highly nervous. I think you may want to eat something though so you have something on your stomach. How about some fruit, a biscuit , and water?" she offers.
"Ok, lets do that ma'am", I agree.
She giggles and sets a plate and glass in front of me. "Ms. Silva is in her office. When you get done she would like you to meet her in there. Oh, Wyatt. I'm glad you have Ms. Silva throughout this. She really cares about you and can be a great source of comfort and strength for you. I'm older than you and have seen a lot throughout my years. Don't be a guy and not lean on her when you need help thinking it will show weakness. Be a man and know true strength is knowing when to ask for help and allowing others into your heart to help heal you. Accepting help is not weakness, ok" , she softly offers while smiling at me.
"Thank you so much Ms. Debbie, for everything. For your kind words and insight which I've rarely had. I'll keep it in mind. This biscuit is delicious by the way", I tell her with a smile and a wink. I finish my breakfast, really hoping it stays down. Losing my breakfast isn't something I need today. I head to Maureen's office and knock.
"Come in", she tells me. I enter the office and see Maureen standing near the window. She is wearing a light gray pant suit with a light pink dress shirt. Shit, she looking beautiful! Then, I notice a man about 6'2" with blond hair wearing a black suit standing at the edge of her desk. They both look at me when I enter. Maureen gives me a smile and says, "Ok, lets head out." We walk out of the house, toward her SUV, and the man in black is following us. "Oh, Wyatt, I forgot to introduce you. This is an associate of mine, Adam Reynolds. He will be accompanying us to court today."
"Oh, ok Maureen. No problem. Hi Mr Reynolds, my name is Wyatt. It's nice to meet. Thank you for going with us today. Hope you're having a good morning", I say while offering my hand out for him to shake.
He looks at me, smiles, bows his head slightly, shakes my hand, and says, "Nice to meet you Mr. Smith. No worries. It's my pleasure. If you need anything just let me know", he offers.
"Oh, call me Wyatt please. Thanks, I appreciate it", I comment.
"Don't worry Wyatt. Adam is very discrete and will keep everything that happens today and otherwise to himself, ok. I wouldn't let him come if I thought differently and if I truly didn't think it was best. Trust me, ok", Maureen assures me while touching my shoulder. I think she can tell I am nervous anyway about today but add someone else learning about my situation and my nervousness increases. With her assurance and touch I settle down. I smile at her. I do trust her. If she thinks it's best for Adam to come then it's good with me. With that, we all climb into her SUV and head to the courthouse.
The ride to the courthouse was relatively uneventful.
