Chapter 76-I Never Liked You Anyway

Happy Valentine's Day Everyone!!!!

Maureen POV

Brutus stands directly beside me on my left and I can feel the intense rage radiating from him. It is solely directed toward the 6'3" sandy blond haired alpha male, who is arrogantly standing down the street while smirking at us. 

'I'm going to shift to see what he has to say' I hear Brutus comment through our mind link. 

'NO! I will not have anyone see your naked body! That is for my eyes only mate!' Shelia quickly responds.

'We know he's ours Shelia!! We are in the middle of a fight. No ones going to care about nudity from anyone right now!' I chide her, quite exasperated really. 

I only hear her growl and I feel warmth flood into my chest from Brutus. 

'Brutus, don't shift. I feel more comfortable with you in wolf form, please' I convey to him, all while never taking my eyes off of Toby. 

'Yes mate. I understand. I'm right here with you.' Brutus expresses while assessing those around Toby.

'Thank you for staying strong beside me' I gently state to him.  

'Always my dear' he genuinely declares.

'Alright Brutus, follow my lead please' I confidently instruct. 

'Of course my mate.'

I take in Toby's seemingly relaxed stare. Yet, he seems to be growing more tense the longer Brutus and I converse, appearing to somewhat ignore Toby. 

Toby has never taken to being ignored, not in the slightest.  His ego can't take it. He can't let anyone offer an idea or entertain another's plan in business meetings or pack dealings because he believes he is the smartest, most intelligent being to ever walk the face of the earth! Just one of the many reasons I have never liked him. I've tolerated him due to my family's past dealings with him and his family. That all became void the moment I confirmed he actively plotted against our pack!!

My eyes never waver from Toby. He is my enemy, my prey! I slowly and purposely stalk toward him without fear, without hesitation. 

I know we will fight each other, probably to the death. There is no way around it. He is not the type to submit nor beg for his life. This alpha, who stands before us,  has not only plotted against our pack he has entered entire other realm with ill intent. He has  entered the brownie realm with destruction as his goal! He has brought death and chaos upon the brownies to serve his own selfish ambition. 

I growl with the intention of showing him I will not back down and am ready for our confrontation. 

"Why not shift so we can discuss things nicely" Toby lazily states while he continues to stand in the middle of the road with his hands resting in his pockets.

I snarl as a response.

 "Oh Maureen, you're just as stubborn and feisty as ever. That will need to change though. I can't have feisty now can I?" he replies, his facial features harder. 

A ground shaking roar escapes from deep within Brutus!!!

 'That bastard!!!'

My heart swells with his response!

My MATE!!

"This doesn't concern you mutt!!" Toby snaps toward Brutus.

I let my own fierce growl loose toward him at his disrespect!!!

'How dare he, the ignorant asshole !!" Shelia snarls, stalking back and forth in my mind.

I snarl as I continue to slowly stride toward Toby, my determined orbs never deviating from his. His relaxed posture giving the impression that he does not feel I'm a threat.

I can almost see the light switch flip inside that pompous mind of his. I see him pause, then slightly sniff. He take a few deep whiffs  while his face contorts in anger and disgust!!

"You. Are. MATED??!! You fucking bitch!!!" he yells at me as he takes his hands out of his pockets. His once relaxed, nonchalant stance is now extremely rigid with anger. 

"You SLUT!!" he screams at me with his hands balled into tight, shaking fists.

'Seriously??!! That shithead!! He reeks of several females!' Shelia spits out.

"I will have you and your pack Maureen! No matter what!! Even if I have to kill that pathetic mongrel! he menacingly snarls, his lips curling upward, exposing his growing canines! 

'Pathetic?? Mongrel?? Stupid POS pup has no idea who he is dealing with!!!' Shelia almost chuckles at Toby's ridiculous assessment of our special mate. 

Toby's eyes lock onto me, ignoring everything else raging around us. 

'I will be by your side, always. I will fight with everything within me for you' Brutus reaches out. 

My eyes stay observing the psycho in front of me. I'm actually surprised he hasn't started foaming at the mouth. 

'I know sweetheart. You didn't have to tell me. I can feel your love and devotion. I always have. You better stay safe until the end of this' I sincerely respond into his mind. I send as much love as I can through our bond as I possibly can. 

I notice Toby is on the verge of charging at so I instantly decide to attack him first instead!! I want this jackass to focus on me, not Brutus or anyone else! 

I dash directly forward and I see he too begins to sprint toward me. I feel Brutus keeping pace with me. 

Toby suddenly shifts into his light blond wolf, ripping his clothes to shreds. He is larger than me yet only by a bit. 

Both of my parents are strong, capable alphas, so my genetics are exceptional. It doesn't hurt that I've trained extensively my entire life!

Alpha male?! Doesn't mean a damn to me!

I will end this!!

With that focus in mind, I race toward Toby with the goal of finishing him!
