****I hope everyone had a safe holiday. Thank you to anyone who is reading my book. I means a lot that others, besides my family and close friends, are reading my story. Thank you!**** I do not own the rights to this picture.

Wyatt POV

I lazily wake up in the spacious, comfortable bed I've been sharing with Maureen since my birthday. Honestly, I never want to leave it, especially when Maureen is beside me. I take a deep breath , roll over onto my left side, and bury myself deeper under the fluffy covers. I'm still not 100% recovered and that's ok. I'm slowly yet steadily improving. Being with Maureen has helped me tremendously, even if it is just my spirit that is uplifted at times. I smile while thinking of her. I finally  stretch, get out of bead, and head toward the kitchen to turn on the coffee machine. There I find  a note on the refrigerator from Maureen.

Good Morning Wyatt :)

I hope you slept well and are feeling better. Just a reminder I have an early morning business meeting. I'm unsure of how long it will take, sorry. Jax has work to do and will be using my office. Adam will be assisting him yet he will take breaks and accompany you if you need to go anywhere. Please don't leave our room unless you really need to so you can rest up and recover quicker. I will try to return as soon as I can. Would you like to do something tomorrow?

PS: Make sure to eat, drink plenty of liquids, and rest.

With Care,

Maureen

I stare at the note, loving the fact she wrote me one in the first place. I make scrambled eggs with buttered toast and pour myself a cup of coffee, which has finished brewing by now. The coffee smell is enticing I guess since in about 5 minutes both Jax and Adam walk into the kitchen hunting mugs.

"Good Morning Wyatt. How are you feeling?", Jax ask.

"Ok I guess. A bit tired but ok overall. I was thinking of going to the gym today just to get out of the flat for a bit as a change of scenery, you know", I reply. I notice Jax glance at Adam then he casually comments, "Oh how about Adam and you go to the pool? That should be fun and not too strenuous."

*****Jax mind links to Adam*****

Take Wyatt swimming at the indoor pool. I will mind link the pack to make sure no one is at the gym while you guys are in the building for privacy and safety.

*****Adam mind links back to Jax*****

Yes, Sir.

"That actually sounds like fun. I don't know how to swim so I'll stay in the shallow end", I state. It will be something different, so yeah lets do that I tell myself.

"Oh, you don't know how to swim? I'll teach you later on when you're feeling better", Adam chimes in.

We continue with small talk and eventually finish our coffee and food. Jax returns to Maureen's office to continue working. Adam and I agree on a time to head out to the pool. Although I don't know how to swim, since my uncle and aunt never taught me or paid for lessons, I'm still excited to hang out at the pool. I'm really looking forward to going!

*****Time to go to the pool*****

Adam is leading the way toward the indoor pool since I've been there before. But on our way out we swing by the kitchen. Ms. Debbie is there with another female, who looks to be a few years older than me. She is attractive and stands about 5'7" with midnight skin, bright blue eyes, curly hair mid way down her back .

"Good morning Wyatt! How are you doing this morning?", Ms. Debbie happily exclaims while walking over to give me a hug. I adore Ms.  Debbie. I so wish I had her around while I was growing up.

"I'm good Ms. Debbie. How are you? What are you up to today?" I reply while giving her big smile.

She pulls back from the hug and says, "I'm doing well, thanks. I'm really excited because I get to spend the day with my niece. Wyatt, I want to introduce you to Ebony. She is visiting me today, maybe tomorrow too. She is lives in another town and is finishing up college soon. I'm so proud of you!" She enthusiastically states while walking over to Ebony with a gigantic smile on her face.

Ebony laughs and states, "Oh Aunt Debbie calm down. I'm just graduating college. It's not like I'm winning the Nobel Peace Prize."

"Not yet", Ms. Debbie chirps while beaming at her niece.

"It was nice to see you again Ebony. We don't want to keep you from plan. We'll be heading out now. Have a great day", Adam says while ushering us out of the kitchen.

"Bye guys. Have a great day too", they reply.

We head out of the kitchen, out of the house, and walk toward the large multi- story building, the gym. I guess the pool is somewhere in there. As if reading my facial expression Adam states, "The pool is on the third floor. This way."

I follow him and we head to what looks like the locker room. People must be at school or work since it is empty while we change. Afterwards, we walk into the pool area. It is awesome! It is huge! At least it is to me. There are light blue and green lounge chairs and tables positioned around the deck area. The pool is rectangular with a small slide on the left side and a diving board on the right side in the deep end. There are steps leading into the shallow end, which is where I'm heading since I don't know how to swim and it's safe.

I walk down the pool stairs in the shallow end while Adam dives off the diving board then swims toward the shallow section. We then hang out, relax, and chat about simple, everyday topics. Then, Adam hears his phone ringing and jumps out to answer it.

"Excuse me Wyatt. I need to take this. I will not be long and will only be in the next room", he tells me while walking toward a door.

I reassure him, "Sure, not a problem man, take your time. I'll be right here." I hear the click of the door closing, indicating he has left the immediate pool area allowing his conversation to continue in private. I enjoy the stillness of the water and decide to float on my back, which Adam showed me earlier. I hear the click of a door and look up, expecting to see Adam. However, I was mistaken. There, with a smirk on his face and his arms folded across his chest, stood the asshole who shoved me on the stairs awhile back! Shit, just what I need right now!
