19. Proud of You

"Hello?" I hissed after picking up my phone. Kanina pa ito ring nang ring pero ayaw tumigil. I should've turned it off before I slept last night. Medyo kasalanan ko din naman kung ba't naiistorbo 'tong tulog ko.

Ngayon na nga lang makakapagpahinga ng maayos, pinagkakait pa sa 'kin.

"Hell---"

"Where's Jason?"

I groaned.

"Seriously Lils? Hanapan nalang ba talaga ako ng lalaking 'yun?"

'Di ko man ito nakikita ay alam kong iniirapan n ako nito. Well, sorry nalang siya but over the years, I've grown to not be be so intimidated with her anymore. She's still the badass bitch that I always adore but she's also raising me on becoming one kaya medyo nagiging immune na ako sa katarayan nito.

"Just answer me, Junipher. You'll have you beauty rest after. I promise."

"Bakit ba kasi? Ano na namang ginawa ng hinayupak na 'yun?"

Araw-araw nalang bang magkakalat si Jason dito sa lupa?

Mabuti pa sa med school eh, nakakapagpahinga pa ako kahit papano. Pero pagdating sakanya? Oh god, walang pahinga! 'Di pinapatahimik kaluluwa ko.

"May ka-meeting kami kanina, 'yung caterer for the engagement party for food tasting,"

"Hmm, 'mkay?" I rolled to the side and covered myself with the sheets, "At kasama niyo si Jas?"

"Well he insisted. He's the maid of honor after all."

Napairap ako.

"Okay? Tas anong nangyari?"

"I was just talking with the caterer about the cake design that Ely and I want for the party, medyo matatagalan 'yun at gutom na raw 'yung dalawa kaya pinauna ko muna sila sa baba to order lunch and then when I went after them, wala sila sa restaurant."

"Kinidnap na naman siguro ni Jas fiancé mo---"

"That's why I'm asking you..."

"Ano namang magagawa ko? I don't know where the hell is that guy! I didn't even left my bed since yesterday. Tinext mo na ba 'yung isang 'yun? Or si Ely?"

"Ely's not picking up his phone. Jason's probably doing his best on keeping my fiancé occupied."

She just sighed, making me laugh.

"I'll call Jason. Kawawa ka naman, mukhang mas stressed ka pa sa maid of honor mo kesa sa mismong kasal mo."

She giggled, "Sinabi mo pa! I sometimes think that it's Jason that Ely wanted to marry and I'm just thirdwheeling them."

I couldn't help but laugh.

"Kesa naman sa kay Jason ka magpakasal. Okay na 'yan."

She groaned. Hindi ko talaga alam sa isang 'yun kung ba't inis na inis parin kapag inaasar ko siya kay Jas. I already asked Luke about that one, kasi maging si Jas ay ganun rin ng reaksiyon kapag inaasar ko parin ito kay Lils. According to golden boy, talagang nagc-cringe ang dalawa sa tuwing pinapaalala sila sa dark days nila. Yes, they refer their dating period as the dark days. The both of them thought that their entire relationship sucked and that they're better off as friends.

Bilib nga ako kasi 'di man lang sila na-awkward sa isa't-isa even after their break up. They're each other's first relationship for pete's sake! First kiss, first date... And all that jazz. But who am I to question it when it's basically the same as Jason and I's thing? Kapag sinasaniban kami ng kademonyohan namin tuwing gabi ay umaakto kami na parang walang ginawang kabalbalan kinabukasan.
