"Hey, can you help me with this?"

"Sure."

Y/N and Mikey have been friends for about ever since the beginning of school, laughing about everything they spoke about.

He was the, 'popular but not a jerk' type of guy, always on trend, always respecting everyone, all of that kind of shit. It was unusual for him to snap at anyone, really, as he was the nicest guy of the school.

When everyone seemed to have turned the band-wagon around and start beating up chosen kids and leaving them out on the streets, that's when everyone thought that Mikey wouldn't do it.

Wrong.

His persona flipped, but he was still popular, in fact, he had gotten more popular when he began to beat up poor kids.

One day when Y/N's number finally came up to get her beating, he/she didn't think that he could lay a fist onto her face, but now as he had grown used to hearing the whimpers and cries of the others, he did it without flinching.

Several days later, they still haven't moved onto the next person, always beating Y/N up whenever they saw them.

On one particular day after a beating, he/she limped over to the sidewalk, struggling to keep her balance until she felt a hand on her shoulder.

They quickly swatted it away, and upon turning around, it was Mikey, causing her/him to scream.

He grabbed their wrists, pulling their hands to their chest as he softly spoke. They could tell that his face was, up close, riddled with cuts and fading bruises, as if he were in a struggle.

"When I told the others about this, they hurt me too," He said, noticing their gaze was focused on his wounds. "Don't run away. I swear- I fucking- I don't know how to say this."

"I know you probably hate me, god, who doesn't? I didn't want to do this. They forced me to do it, and I didn't think that I'd be capable of doing it. But- before, and still now, I'd like to say something."

"I've actually liked you for quite some time, but as I was forced to... hurt you everyday, I was scared. Scared that they'd all leave me... scared that everything I built up to would fall and crumble."
