Narrator's perspective

"The girl actually needs to attend classes here, Hope! Are you kidding me? Don't you dare leave us in here!"

Camille bang on the invisible barrier, her anger getting the better of her. She heard her sister's laugh, echo on the halls and her heels clicking dispersed. She took a deep breath and turned around to meet Hermione's eyes, whom which stand still in the middle of the room.

"I'm sorry— If I still had my magic, I would break the barrier in a split second." She said softly sighing and plopped down on the couch.

Apparently, Hope had managed to fool her sister and Hermione on coming to an abandoned common room in the castle. It wasn't much but it's still a room to keep them locked in for another 3 hours.

"Well that's great. I'm stuck in a room with no one else to talk to." She teased and sat down by Camille's feet, looking at her downwards. "I'm kidding, lighten up."

"Aren't you mad? or rather, be a million miles away from me after what I just told you yesterday?" Camille questioned, both her hands were behind the back of her head, resting in a comfortable position.

"Now why would I do that? Other than a, what did you call it? A barrier spell, that's right, is keeping me from leaving." Hermione said in a small smile only to make Camille look at her in questioning.

"You are ridiculously confusing, Granger." She whispered loud enough for the brunette to hear perfectly.

Hermione frowned, resting the palm of her hand on the couch while she looked at Camille directly. "And you are avoiding. Something brought your mood down?"

"Probably because my sister placed me in a room with the girl I like. Other than that faction, I am doing fantastic, love." She smiled forcefully and sat up straight, leaning her back to the couch and groaned. "Times like this, I miss Penelope and her antics."

"So we aren't avoiding. Noted." Hermione stated, also shifting her position on the couch to a much more relaxing one.

"Why are you acting weird? You're suppose to be mad or something. God— I hate it that Hope placed the barrier spell."

"Now you are not making sense. What's getting into you?" The Granger questioned, tilting her head to the side when she saw a side of Camille that was serious. "If this is about yesterday and me taking advantage of your drunken state then I apologize."

Camille huffed and stole a glance to the witch. "It's not— You know what, Maybe it is. You should've just asked me if you wanted answers."

"I wasn't about to put a horribly drunk you go to waste. I like that version of you better." She said teasingly which made the Tribrid roll her eyes. "Don't mind me asking but, why did you get banished here?"

"My family is dangerous and probably invented the word evil. Dad probably pissed of a coven of witches just for them to create a spell laced with dark magic. Have I mentioned how I hate covens and dark spells?" Camille rolled her eyes, standing up and pacing in circles from the couch slowly.

"A couple dozen times." Hermione shrugged already used to a babbling Cami. "If your family asked for help to Dumbledore, why haven't you gone back home yet?"

Camille sighed, stopping in her tracks when she was just behind Hermione. "Aunt Freya still hasn't found the spell. Worse, it might not exist. I don't want to die in a world where we don't belong."

"Die? What do you mean die?" Hermione asked concerned and turned around to see Camille's facial expression.

She looked at the girl downwards and sighed. "Immortal beings also dies, Hermione. It's only a matter of time before I do too. Guessing by my luck, it's coming pretty quick." She scoffed and thought of her magic slowly killing her.
