After Annabeth and I went our separate ways, I went to pick up Annie from school. Pulling into the driveway, I waited for her to get into the car. Pulling out my phone, I texted Annabeth.

Me: I had fun today ;)

It took a few minutes for her to respond.

Annabeth: Me too. Should we make it a weekly thing?

Me: Totally. How about Thursday mornings?

Annabeth: Sounds good.

I shut my phone off when Annie got in the car.

"How was school?" I asked.

"Horrible."

"Anything exciting happen?"

"No."

"What's wrong?"

"I got suspended." she said casually. I turned in my seat.

"You what?" I asked.

"I got suspended." she said again.

"How...?"

"Well after I refused to go to the office the other day–"

"You said you went."

"I hid in a janitors' closet until Larry found me just before the bell rang. Anyway, Larry found me, asked me what I was doing there, and I told him everything. He brought me to Ms. Ferguson, and she told me we'd talk later, since the bell rang. She wasn't there yesterday, so we talked today. She told me that my behavior was inappropriate, and I wouldn't be in trouble if I'd just went to her and told her the situation. So I went back to class, and Mrs. Smith somehow got me suspended for being late, but she got fired because she was caught smacking a student." I shook my head.

"We'll talk about this at home."

Once we got home, Annie explained everything again. And again.

"You are sure she got fired?"

"Yes! Can I go now?" Annie snapped.

"Go ahead..." I sighed, walking into the kitchen. I poured himself a glass of juice, since Annabeth was still on my case about leaving out that drink for Annie. My phone rang, and I picked it up, not bothering to look at the contact name.

"Hello?"

"Why didn't you tell me Annabeth was back?" My mom's voice rang through the phone.

"Slipped my mind?" I said, trying to sound convincing.

"Whatever. I made cookies, and you need to take them over to her house since I'm busy."

"Okay, I'll be over in an hour or so. Annie got suspended so...that should be fun." Mom laughed.

"She gets it from you. What did she do?"

And so I told her everything Annie had told me–the asshole of a teacher, the closet, the janitor, all of it."

"Remember the time you and Jason cracked a fossil at the Metropolitan?"

I laughed. "Oh, I remember all right. It's a good thing Dad and Uncle Zeus were there to get us out of trouble."

"Yeah..." she trailed off. "Well, come over whenever you are ready."

"Bye Mom."

Bye, Percy." She hung up and I set my phone down, taking a sip of my juice.
