Ryan stared at the text messages as he finally pulled out his phone from the past hour. Okay, maybe leaving it on silent wasn't the best idea.

In his defense he was hanging out with his family in the living room. He didn't like the fact that James slipped at his parent's house. Since James was so nervous that someone would find out. But he could understand it. James was very nervous the entire time coming here, and it didn't help that only grew inside the house. Plus his parents and siblings did treat him childlike. In their defense James was like a small puppy. He followed Ryan around, he was easily excited, and he was clumsy. Plus everyone had fallen for his adorable smile. Ryan knew they would end up liking him. He was the one who got the death threat instead of James. His Dad said that if he ever made James feel uncomfortable, the living room would have a new wall decoration. It was sweet, but Ryan knew his father kept to his word.

"I'm heading to my room," Ryan said as he put his phone back in his pocket.

"Awe come on," his older brother protested. "You only got back seven hours ago!"

"Yeah but James needs me," he shrugged. The family mumbled to themselves before his mom spoke up.

"Is he hungry? I should probably be starting dinner anyways," she offered. Then it dawned on her. "Did we make him nervous? Were we too much? I know we crowed around him a lot."

"Nothing like that, he's just wants me in the room," Ryan said, earning a smirk from his older sister.

" 'The room', ey?" she asked, getting a slap in the head from her father.

"What's 'the room'?" Ryan's younger sister asked.

Ryan took this advantage to slip out of the room as everyone began to panic. He quickly walked down the hall and made his way to his room. The door wasn't locked so he slowly opened it. He saw James laying on his bed, cuddling his blanket. Ryan closed the doors and locked them. He walked over to his baby and tapped on his shoulder. James looked at him and shoved his face back into his blanket. Ryan sat down beside him and rested his hand on James's arm.

"Did I mess up?" he asked, getting a nod in response. "I'm sorry Baby. I didn't mean to not respond to you. Trust me I didn't. My phone was on silent and I didn't check it. I'll make sure to put it on vibrate next time, okay? I'm sorry, Hun Bun."

"Do you still love me?" James asked honestly. A million thoughts raced through his head when Ryan didn't respond. Knowing he was a hallway away. Especially when he checked and he saw that Ryan read and didn't text back. It scared him, he felt terrible. That emotion changed to guilt when he saw Ryan's face changed to a more softer expression.

"With all my heart," Ryan said as he leaned down, nuzzling his cheek. "Can you forgive me?"

"Hmp," James huffed, rolling over and hugging him tightly. "I'm sorry."

"For what?" Ryan asked as he petted James's hair.

"For thinking you don't love me," James frowned, sniffing as he dried his eyes.

"Hey, I've told you this once but I'll tell you a million times more if you need me to, your feelings are valid, my Little Space Ranger. I'm not upset that you thought those mean and scary thoughts. I'm sorry that I didn't respond quicker, I should of. Can you forgive me?" Ryan asked. He doesn't always talk, not even with family. But there are times where James needs words, not just actions.
