chapter 71 | a whole new meaning

Bakugou never thought he'd get a crush. He always told himself he didn't have time for any of that bullshit known as love.
He didn't wanna waste his money on gifts for his partner. He didn't wanna hold their hand, spend time with them or to show vulnerability. He only wanted to spend time training to become the worlds greatest hero.
He didn't like the thought of opening up his heart to another human being.
But when you had suddenly showed up to his middle school and put him in his place, Bakugou's perspective had changed. He hated you, at first. You were loud, annoying, wouldn't stop quoting stupid memes and tiktoks and would never stop hanging out with Deku.
But the more and more you pestered him, the more the iron wall protecting his heart would break. He soon began to see something in you. This made you different from everyone else he knew.
He knew was he was feeling when the two of you finally made it into High School.
These feelings scared him, but you always seemed to make him fall harder for you each time you would do the smallest of things.
"Stupid damn mermaid bitch..." Bakugou mumbled, lying in bed. He shifted his gaze to his clock, '10:00 PM'.
'It's past my bed time.' He thought.

'What the hell came over me? Why'd I just kiss (Y/N) outta nowhere like that? Now I've just blown my chance and stupid half and half or Deku have a higher chance to-'
He tossed and turned but couldn't get the feeling of your lips outta his mind.
Bakugou was too embarrassed to face you. He'd have to try and avoid you for how ever long he could.

You, on the other hand, weren't doing that good. It's been a couple of days since Bakugou kissed you and everyone could feel the awkward tension between the two of you.
Usually you'd be forcing Bakugou to make tiktoks with you but that wasn't happening. Everyone watched as you'd awkwardly avoid each other, but nobody wanted to ask. Until Mina finally had enough of it.
"(Y/N)!!!!" Mina banged on your door, throwing herself in before you could get up to answer it. "Hey, what's wrong?" You questioned, the pink haired girl slammed the door shut and locked it.
"Fess up! What happened between you and Bakugou?!" She shouted.
You quickly slapped your hand on her mouth, throwing her on the bed. "SHUT IT! You're too fucking loud!" You clamped her mouth closed, towering over the girl as she struggled to move.
You finally let her go, sitting down on the bed. "We were talking, then outta nowhere he just kissed me, then just walked off? I don't know.."
"FHSKGMSMRMEKKSKKSKGKKSKE-"
"Mina you're so loud girl-"
"Stfu (Y/N) how are you getting all these girls and guys to fall for you anyways?🙄✌️ Well I guess I'm just built different cause I DON'T have a crush on you or whatever hahahahaha😹✨."
You laughed, "Haha what if we kissed rn 😜✌️ Just kidding...unless...?"
The room grew quiet as the two of you sat in silence for some time.
"Right so anyways- 🧍♀️" You stood up, wiping your sweaty palms on your shorts. "Can I sleep over tonight?" Mina asked, already tucking herself into your bed and making herself comfortable.
"Sure, I guess." You shut off the lights, sliding into the bed next to her.
It was quiet, the only thing that could be heard was the violent thunder and rain from outside the dorms.
Mina contemplated if she should ask the question she desperately wanted to know, so she went for it.
"Hey..do you like anyone?"
"...Like? Or like like?"
"Like like."
You didn't reply, you stated up at the ceiling in thought.
"I think...I do? It's just so complicated. I don't know WHO I like. I know that sounds weird but like- I don't even know if I should date right now...I'm not exactly in the best shape if you get what I mean. But it depends I guess." You scratched your elbow, glaring at the ceiling.
Mina turns to face you, "I'm sure everything will fall in place soon. I'm here for you, ya know that right?"
You chuckle lightly, "Thank you, Mina. I appreciate it. I really needed to hear that now. I'm glad that I'm not alone tonight, thank you for being here."
"Girl if you don't get your ass to sleep I'm gonna throw acid on you-"
